  1. Five things we learnt today in North Yorkshire

    David Ward

    BBC Local Live, York

That's all we've got time for today - thanks for spending the last few hours with us. I'm back with our Local Live service from 07:00 tomorrow.

But before we go, let's look back at five things we've learnt about North Yorkshire throughout the day:

    1. The number of attacks on Ambulance Service workers in Yorkshire has shot up
    2. Police in York have issued a CCTV image of two women and a child in the hope that someone can identify them after a member of the public expressed concerns for the youngster
    3. Members of Church Fenton parish council say they still know very little about plans that could see 10,000 new homes built nearby
    4. One of the most well-known comedians has offered his support to a campaign to save the iconic Futurist Theatre in Scarborough from demolition
    5. There are plenty of public bonfires and fireworks displays that you could go to at the weekend across North Yorkshire
  2. Watch: Hedgehog numbers declining at rapid rate

    Joanita Musisi

    Reporter, BBC Radio York

On BBC Radio York today, I've been finding out about the fate of hedgehogs.

The once common hedgehog is now under threat from development and habitat loss caused by the reduction of hedgerows and and increase in intensive farming methods.

In just the last 10 years, hedgehog numbers have fallen by 30%, and there are now thought to be fewer than a million left in the UK - and at this time of year they are particularly under threat.

I've been to Wildlife Haven in Thirsk to meet one and find out what we can do to help:

    Nathan Turvey

    Presenter, BBC Radio York

More now on the future of the Futurist Theatre in Scarborough.

Comedian Tommy Cannon - of Cannon and Ball fame - has offered his support to campaigners calling for the borough council to reverse its decision to demolish it. It's been derelict for almost three years.

Earlier, we told you about the passionate public meeting in the town last night, which had over 200 people there as they agreed they must continue their fight to save it.

Cannon used to perform on stage there in front of full houses, night after night.

He's told me times have changed but it's the "people's theatre" and it can't be knocked down:

  18. Listen: Parish councillor's 'shock' at size of Church Fenton housing plan

    Nathan Turvey

    Presenter, BBC Radio York

On BBC Radio York's Breakfast Programme this morning, I got an update on a story that's really got some of you going this week.

It's the idea that as many as 10,000 new homes could be built on the site of the old RAF airbase at Church Fenton.

Last night, a small number of people were expected to see the plans for the new "garden village" which could be the size of Wetherby.

Jo Mason is a Church Fenton parish councillor and was one of the people at this closed meeting. She's told me what happened:
