I'm out on the trail of BBC Children in Need funding events around North Yorkshire.

A little while ago, I popped into St Cuthberts School in Pateley Bridge to find out what they're doing.

I ended up facing three challenges they sprang on me. Take a look at how I did:

BBC Radio York is playing a special version of its Finders Keepers game as part of Children in Need.

Presenters Jeremy Buxton and Jericho Keys are following cryptic clues to locations around North Yorkshire where Children in Need fundraising events are taking place. 

Clue Seven banned the keys to the cakes, which was a clever way of taking the clue hunters to Amotherby Primary School, who are having a cake sale and selling headbands.

The Keeper has now issued the final clue for Jeremy and Jericho to dash to and complete the challenge:

It will be a blustery afternoon with some sunshine but there will be plenty of showers around too, some heavy and thundery at times. 

The winds will be a little bit lighter than yesterday but it will still feel very cold with top temperatures of about 4C (39F).

The health trust which used to run York's Bootham Park hospital has been told it must make improvements. 

Bootham was closed last year after being found unsuitable and unsafe for patients.

The chief inspector of hospitals says the Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust "needs to do more to provide services that are safe, effective and well-led".

The Trust says its services "are respectful, caring and compassionate". 

York Central Labour MP Rachael Maskell says: "In the light of another failed CQC report, it's time that NHS Improvement intervened to make sure people in York and across Yorkshire receive a far better service."

Clue Six's "find the vegan line" took them to Leavening Community Primary School where they are selling spotty cakes and biscuits (vegan line is an anagram of leavening, fact fans).

Get going boys, not much longer to go!

It's Children in Need day, and it's the last day of BBC Look North presenting duo Harry and Amy's Big 5 Challenge. 

Today they're back on their tandem and are cycling more than 40 miles from Pudsey to Bradford in West Yorkshire - in pretty terrible conditions.

Businesses in Pateley Bridge say they're confident that they could win their category in the finals of the Great British High Street Awards. 

They're down to the last three in the Best Village category and today is the final day for voting.

Last year, Helmsley won Best Market Town and York's Bishopthorpe Road won the overall title.

Homeowners in parts of York are being warned to be on their guard against burglars.

Police say residents in the Clifton, Huntington Road, Groves and Heworth areas should be particularly vigilant after several reports of incidents and suspicious circumstances.

In the light of these incidents, officers say local residents should follow these guidelines:

• A well-lit home gives the impression someone is in
• Use timer switchers to turn lights on while you are out
• Don’t leave curtains closed during the day
• Lock all windows and doors
• Keep valuable items out of view
• Keep gates well-secured

PC Andrew Pearson says: "We have made a number of arrests in connection with burglaries in the city. We are also conducting extra reassurance patrols in many areas."

Officers in Ryedale are clearly enjoying the snowy landscape this morning, but are also staying steadfastly "on message" - with good reason, of course:

Here's news of something you might want to avoid if you can. 

The A59 Knaresborough Road in Harrogate is partially blocked and there's queuing traffic in both directions at the Empress Roundabout, because of a broken down lorry.

Clue Four mentioned monks without wine which turned out to be the Yorkshire Heart Vineyard and Brewery near Nun Monkton. They have a Fun Night on tomorrow, with a hog roast.

York is the best city in the UK to live for community spirit, according to a new a poll of over 4,000 people.  

The report by London's City University finds that the UK's top 10 "community spirit" cities are:

1. York              6. Wrexham
2. Hull               7. Newcastle
3. Belfast          8. Swansea
4. Derby           9. Cardiff
5. Plymouth     10. Glasgow

To measure community spirit, the questions ranged from "does your local pub landlord know your name?" to "would you feel safe leaving your house key with someone in your local neighbourhood?"  

Across the UK, the study found that community spirit is declining as a whole with an average 50% of residents not knowing their neighbours' names and a quarter feeling community spirit has decreased in the last five years.

Six people have been arrested after an investigation into supplying heroin in York.

Three properties in the Groves and Hull Road areas are still being searched.

Three men and three women, aged between 24 and 45, are being held by police.
