Tonight's concert for Children in Need sees dancing news people, singing presenters, stand-up, Jive Bunny and Toby Foster's old band from the 80s is reunited for this one-off night.

An outbreak of cat flu is blighting operations there, a third of its cats have the flu.

For many it was the only club in town that mattered.

Music lovers in the 1980's couldn't get enough of the Limit Club.

It was known for its cutting-edge appeal, where the cool 'in the know' crowd went to hang out and share their common passions.

A funeral ceremony has been taking place for a man who is thought to have been dead in his home for up to two weeks.

Yemeni elder Hussain Abdo Ismail, who was 75, lived in Carwood Way in Sheffield and passed away alone in his house.

It's understood that he has no family in Sheffield and to date nobody has claimed his body.

The community has rallied to stage a funeral for him today with around 400 people attending the Yorkshire Muslim Academy in Grimesthorpe.

Victims have welcomed the jailing of eight men who abused young girls in Rotherham.

They've been given a total of 96 years behind bars; the girls they abused were as young as 13.

Outside Sheffield Crown Court, Senior Investigating Officer Martin Tate spoke to us:

Following the jailing of eight men who preyed on young girls in Rotherham, the council says it's a clear message to those who commit such vile crimes.

In all the eight men have been sentenced to 96 years in jail for abusing girls as young as thirteen over a four year period from 1999.

A statement from one of the girls abused by the gang jailed for a total of 96 years today has been read outside the court.

The gang of eight are Sageer Hussain, Ishtiaq Khaliq, Waleed Ali, Masoued Malik, Asif Ali, Naeem Rafiq, Basharat Hussain and Mohammed Whied.

They were jailed at Sheffield Crown Court, having been convicted of a total of 16 charges after a trial.

Eight men have been sentenced today for abusing girls in Rotherham.

BBC Look North's Phil Bodmer has been reporting live from Sheffield Crown Court:

The man behind bringing the Rotherham child sex grooming gang to justice has been speaking after the men were sentenced to a total of 96 years in prison today.

Detective Chief Inspector Martin Tate said: “Significant sentences have been handed to these individuals for their significant and horrific crimes.

“The rape and sexual abuse of children is completely abhorrent and this group have shown no remorse for their crimes, forcing the young women who came forward to report this awful abuse to relive traumatic experiences before the court.

“We are indebted to the victims, who have supported our investigation and have shown remarkable strength in attending court to give evidence.

“This has been a lengthy and complicated process but I hope they are pleased with today’s results. These dangerous sexual offenders are now behind bars where they can cause no further harm, thanks in large part to the victims’ trust and confidence in our investigation.”

Reacting to the news that eight men have been sentenced to a total of 96 years in prison for sexually abusing children in Rotherham, the town's MP Sarah Champion said: "I welcome the news that these eight men have been jailed for a total of 96 years for their utterly despicable crimes. This sends the strongest signal that we will not stand for the abuse of children. 

"I hope today’s sentences bring some closure to the survivors and that they feel justice has been done.

"By coming forward, these brave women have been forced to relive the most horrific experiences and their courage has not only secured eight convictions but will hopefully encourage other survivors to speak out.

"But let me be clear: the fight isn’t over. We will not rest until every victim of child sexual exploitation has justice and until these vile practices have been stamped out – both in Rotherham and across the UK. We have to focus on prevention as well as prosecutions.  

"I would like to thank South Yorkshire Police, the CPS and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council for all their vital work in securing these convictions."

The eight men sentenced today for abusing teenage girls in Rotherham were reminded of the effects their criminal actions had on their victims by the judge.

The gang, jailed for a total of 96 years, were sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court today after being found guilty of abusing three teenage girls in a trial which ended last month.

As she sentenced them Judge Sarah Wright told the eight men: "The victim of all eight of you was vulnerable. She was just 13 to 14 years old.

"Although she had a loving and supportive family, and was doing well at school as she was reaching adolescence, she was susceptible to the attention that you and others gave her.

"She was targeted, sexualised and subjected to acts of a degrading and violent nature."

She said: "The childhood and adolescence of each of the victims can never be reclaimed.

"Each has suffered severe psychological harm. They continue, and will continue to suffer, considerable trauma throughout their lives as a result of your actions."

The judge added: "I would like to take this opportunity to commend wholeheartedly the remarkable courage of all of the victims in this case.

"All three have shown immeasurable bravery in coming forward to give their accounts."

Eight men have been given jail sentences of up to 19 years for sexually exploiting teenage girls in Rotherham. 

A month-long trial at Sheffield Crown Court heard how the men "sexualised" their victims and, in some instances, subjected them to acts of a "degrading and violent nature". 

One girl and her family told police and their MP and then home secretary David Blunkett about the abuse and eventually moved to Spain to get away from the men. 

The court heard that this victim had gone to the police in 2003, saying she had been repeatedly raped by Sageer Hussain when she was 13.

Judge Sarah Wright, who jailed Hussain for 19 years, said he had conducted a "campaign of violent rape" against the vulnerable 13-year-old. 

Hussain's brothers, Arshid, Basharat and Bannaras, were jailed in April following the first successful prosecution of a grooming gang in Rotherham since the child sexual exploitation scandal engulfed the town two years ago. 

We don't know what kind of a week you've had, but we're guessing for most of us it would be hard to compete with the last seven days in the life of 16-year-old Liam Kirk from Maltby. 

On Saturday he scored his first professional goal for the Sheffield Steelers, 

On Tuesday he made his debut for Great Britain's ice hockey team. 

His coach says he's the best player in his age group in the country.

People are being asked to complete a survey into what South Yorkshire Police should be focusing on.

The priorites list is being drawn up by Dr Alan Billings, the area's Police and Crime Commissioner.

It includes questions on the level of confidence people have in the force and how well it's doing in a number of areas.
