  2. Katy Perry to get political on new album?

    Katy Perry

Like Madge, another musical American voter clearly effected by the outcome of the election was Katy Perry.

Katy, who along with Madonna, Gaga, Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi appeared at public rallies in support of losing democrat candidate Hillary Clinton, may have to give her new album a re-think in order to reflect the new world order.

No word from her camp yet but Katy alludes as much on social media, quoting American novelist Toni Morrison: "This is precisely the time when artists go to work."

Could an era-defining political record be on its way?  Dylan, Gaye, Marley, Bragg...Perry?

  3. Rudimental remix of Rag'n'Bone Man has a video

  4. Madonna teases James Corden Carpool Karaoke

    Madonna

After an unsuccessful few weeks on the Hillary presidential campaign trail, it seems that Madonna is in need of a good belly-laugh.

Queue British funny man James Corden, who has picked up Madge for a spot of Carpool Karaoke.

The US pop star trailed her appearance in James' famous car, which has already hosted the likes of Gaga and Britney, on social media, saying: "riding around Manhattan with this hunk of burning love."

A little Elvis number for us perhaps then guys? Stay tuned.

    RAYE

Some brand new music for you now courtesy of 18-year-old South Londoner RAYE.

The hotly-tipped singer today released the video for Shhh, a track taken from her recent EP Second.

The performance was filmed during a gig at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen gig in London so if you were there you might even feature.  Eyes peeled.

If you're wondering where you've heard that voice before then it could be from her appearance on Jonas Blue's By Your Side, or Nas's track War.

And if that wonderment turns into approval then you can see her at XOYO in Shoreditch, London on 9 February.

  11. Loyle Carner is Annie Mac's Hottest Record

Annie Mac made south London rapper Loyle Carner her hottest record on Wednesday night with his new Track The Isle of Arran.

The rapper is yet to release his debut album but has fans in high places having supported Nas at the O2 in London last month.

He explained the title of the new track to Annie.

"I spent a lot of time there. It's where my granddad grew up, it a little island off the top of Scotland and there's not much to do there.

"It's a very long journey (from London) but it's beautiful, it's secluded."

  12. Bob Dylan confirms Nobel no-show

    Bob Dylan

He's been quite reticent on the subject so far so its not real surprise that its been confirmed that Bob Dylan will not travel to Sweden to receive his Nobel Prize for Literature.

The Swedish Academy, which awards the prizes, said the singer felt "very honoured" and wished he could receive the prize personally but is unable to attend next month's Nobel ceremony "due to pre-existing commitments".

But Bob's still Gotta Serve Somebody soon though, as he is required to give a Nobel lecture between now and next June or he forgoes the 1m Kroner prizemoney.

    Iggy Azalea

Iggy Azalea, the Aussie rapper who sounds American - has walked away with the Woman of the Year gong at GQ awards in Sydney.

The scantly-clad 26-year-old rapper said she was delighted but admitted she didn’t prepare a speech and according to Australian newspaper, the Herald Sun, added: "I’ve won a lot of awards over the last few years but this one means the absolute most to me because I can finally say that I have an award-winning vagina."

    Charming.

Her award came a few days after Bono won a man of the women of the year award but thankfully he managed to avoid mention of his genitals on stage.

Now, fellow British song-writer Pete Doherty has followed suit leading the Paris crowd in a joyous rendition of French national anthem La Marseillaise on Wednesday evening.

Pete, who will play the same venue again tonight, was joined by Libertines band-mate Carl Barat and you can see some fan shot footage below.
