We now know who is going to build the long-awaited Eastern Bypass for Lincoln. 

Councillors have agreed to go with their preferred bidder - Carillion Construction. 

Work is expected to start in May on linking the A158 to the A15. 

The route is expected to open three years later.

Gritters have been out on Lincolnshire's roads for the first time this season. 

Lincolnshire County Council covered 43 routes last night. 

Highways engineer Richard Fenwick says they're well-stocked with salt with about 50,000 tonnes in reserve. 

And looking at the tweet below, they're expecting to make another run tonight:

Kesteven Street in Lincoln is partially blocked.

There is very slow traffic and the road is just passable at the A15 Canwick Road junction.

There has been an accident involving a bus and a car.  

The family of a woman killed in a crash near Spalding have released a statement.

Police confirmed yesterday that Alexandra Hills, 21, died in the crash at Gedney on Monday morning.

Alexandra was a student at Lincoln's Bishop Grosseteste University .

Senior staff there said support was available to those affected by her death.

Officials at the Lincolnshire Co-op say their annual sales have hit a major milestone.

The Lincoln-based business, which is separate from the national Manchester-based Co-op, has broken through the £300m sales barrier for the first time in 155 years.

The MP for Cleethorpes, Martin Vickers, wants an overhaul in the ways England deals with the risk of flooding.

A House of Commons Environment and Rural Affairs committee report has said there should be a UK floods supremo, new flooding and coastal boards and a rivers and coastal authority.

MPs said floodwater should be stored on agricultural land, argued for tougher rules on house builders and stricter standards on repairing flooded homes.

The government, however, said it it saw no need for organisational change.

A 66-year-old motorist was punched in the face and left with a black eye and bloodied nose after an attack in his own car in Grimsby.

He was driving along Healing Road on Monday when the driver of a grey BMW forced him to stop. 

The driver of the BMW got out of his vehicle and assaulted the 66-year-old through the open window before leaving the scene. 

The suspect is a white man, in his mid-30s and between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 7ins tall with short dark hair. 

The Lincolnshire-based Red Arrows have sent us this fantastic footage from their first-ever display over China.

It took place yesterday. Hold on for a roller-coaster ride!

Did you know that used chewing gum can actually be recycled?
