Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is looking forward to his personal return to Germany, although he did so in a summer friendly after moving to England from Bayern Munich in June.

"I am really happy because I had a really great time and my family had a great time," he said.

"My first official visit to Germany as City manager was actually the friendly against Bayern Munich in July and as I said it was an honour to have spent that time here in Germany."

City will secure their place in the knockout round with victory against Borussia Monchengladbach.

Arsene Wenger has urged Arsenal to send a statement out to their European rivals with a victory over French champions Paris St-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Wenger, whose team have been eliminated at the last-16 stage for the past six seasons, said the competition was more open this year, citing Manchester City's 3-1 defeat of Barcelona in the last round of fixtures as an example.

"When you play at home against a big team, you want to win. It sends a statement out. We are ready to compete. We saw Man City winning against Barcelona. We have an opportunity to show it against Paris St-Germain.

"Let's finish first and at least we have the advantage to play the second game at home. I feel guilty when we finish second and have a difficult tie."

Celtic's 2-1 Champions League success against Barca in Glasgow in 2012 "shows that it can be done", according to manager Brendan Rodgers.

Rodgers' side lost 7-0 at the Nou Camp in September, but Rodgers said has side "have no fire" ahead of tonight's game at Celtic Park.

"What it shows is that it can be done," Rodgers said of the exploits of Neil Lennon's side in 2012.

"There are many variables that go into it. You need a bit of luck along the way, you need to play at the top of your game, you need your goalkeeper to play well because you know he'll have to make saves and you hope you can take the opportunities that come your way.

"We've no fear of the result. We want to perform well and if we do that in our pressing, our recovery of the ball and being clinical in the final third, then we believe we have a chance."

Defenders Kolo Toure and Emilio Izaguirre are expected to start when Celtic host Barcelona in the Champions League. The duo were rested for Friday's win at Kilmarnock, along with attacking midfielder Tom Rogic.

Star forwards Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez return for Barcelona, who opened Group C with a 7-0 win over Celtic. Messi has recovered from illness to travel, while Suarez was suspended for Saturday's 0-0 draw at home to Malaga.

"Leo always wants to play and I'm sure he'll be ready," said manager Luis Enrique.

Defender Gerard Pique is expected to recover from a knock but captain Andres Iniesta and defender Samuel Umtiti remain sidelined with injury.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will field a strong side after urging his players to "finish the job" in the Champions League against Paris St-Germain.

The Gunners and PSG both have 10 points and have booked their place in the knockout stage with two games to spare.

France forward Olivier Giroud could start after his equaliser as a substitute at Manchester United on Saturday. Two players who will definitely not be involved because of injury are midfielder Santi Cazorla (Achilles) and right-back Hector Bellerin (ankle).

Rachael - a clinical co-ordinator at Strathclyde University - devotes scores of hours of her free time each year to volunteer at cycling groups in Glasgow and has been named BBC Scotland's Unsung Hero for 2016.

Manchester City will be without captain Vincent Kompany as they attempt to reach the Champions League last 16 with victory at Borussia Monchengladbach.

The defender was concussed in the weekend win at Crystal Palace but boss Pep Guardiola says Kompany has missed the trip to Germany with a knee injury.

Yaya Toure, who scored twice against Palace on his return to the side, is not in City's Champions League squad.

The Blues are second in Group C, three points ahead of their opponents.

You may remember when then-Southampton manager Graeme Souness was duped by a man claiming to be the cousin of a former world footballer of the year. 

Ali Dia had persuaded his agent to ring the former Liverpool and Rangers boss and pretend he was George Weah ringing about his relative, who just happened to be a highly talented striker he was representing. 

The agent claimed Dia had played 13 internationals for Senegal and that Weah was certain he would succeed in the Premiership. Souness' curosity got the better of him and he gave Dia a one-month contract. 

But the painful truth emerged about his real identity when Dia was introduced from the bench against Leeds on this day in 1996.

His performance was so diabolical that Souness had to take the substitute off after just 53 painful minutes.

Leicester and Algeria midfielder Riyad Mahrez is one of five men nominated for the BBC African Footballer of the Year 2016 award.

In the below video, we look at how he moved from playing on the streets of his home town in Algeria and ending up winning the Premier League title with the Foxes.

Mahrez joins Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Andre Ayew, Sadio Mane and Yaya Toure in the five-man shortlist for the BBC award.

Leeds Rhinos hooker James Segeyaro will remain with the club despite interest from teams in the NRL, chief executive Gary Hetherington has said.

Segeyaro, 26, joined the Rhinos from Penrith during the 2016 season and scored six tries in 10 appearances.

He is contracted to the Headingley club until the end of 2018.

Hetherington said: "There has been interest from NRL clubs, but I have explained that we are not prepared to consider a release or transfer."

Nottingham Forest midfielder Chris Cohen will be out for up to three months with an adductor muscle injury.

Cohen, 29, missed Forest's 2-0 win over Ipswich on Saturday after sustaining the problem in a training session.

He has had a number of fitness issues in recent years, including a knee injury suffered in September 2014 which kept him out for 15 months.

The former West Ham trainee joined Forest from Yeovil in 2007 and has made 292 appearances for the club.

A cycling enthusiast from East Kilbride has won the 2016 BBC Get Inspired Unsung Hero award in Scotland.

Rachael Halifax, 43, has been recognised for volunteering at cycling groups in Glasgow.

The clinical co-ordinator at Strathclyde University will attend the Sports Personality of the Year 2016 event in Birmingham on 18 December.

"I am lucky to be involved with these fantastic groups that do a great job of encouraging cycling," she said.

"The commitment and dedication of all those involved in running them is inspiring."
