  3. Latest headlines: Saints takeover speculation

  4. Thoughts on Saints' takeover speculation

    Adam Blackmore

    BBC Radio Solent sports editor

News of this nature is always unsettling for supporters, and the timing for fans and players is not good, given they have a massive match against Inter Milan looming.

But the Chinese interest has been around for a long time, and this news is not surprising given the Chinese government’s enthusiasm to get involved in football.

The big question for fans will be about stability and investment. Ultimately if this is going to happen, they will want to know the club is in good hands. And everything we know about the way Saints has been run tells us they are a responsible club, a family club, and they have good business values.

I cannot believe Katerina Liebherr and chairman Ralph Krueger would jeopardise the club’s progress in any sale.

If this sale does happen, I don’t believe it will be soon, I think there is a long way to go.

Southampton manager Claude Puel has been speaking ahead of Saints' high-profile Europa League match against Italian giants Inter Milan on Thursday.

Asked about the speculation surrounding the club with a possible takeover by a Chinese business group, the Frenchman admitted it was "not a decision for him to concern himself with".

"All my confidence is with the chairman and the people in the club, because they have built this club with fantastic support and very good organisation."

In September, Michael O'Shea, 28, of Roman Way, was given a suspended jail sentence for failing to stop, after a court was told Mr Tozer died "owing the presence" of O'Shea's car.

  15. Wimborne TIC 'saved for a further three years'

    Tristan Pascoe

    BBC Dorset political reporter

A Tourist Information Centre (TIC) that was threatened with closure three years ago, but was granted a temporary stay of execution by the council, will remain for a further three years.

    Priest's House Museum

After the original threat to close Wimborne's TIC a petition with 5,000 signatures against the plans was gathered within two weeks.

East Dorset District Council said the existing funding arrangement for the centre at the Priest’s House Museum would continue for at least three more years.

There’ll be more on the realignment of TIC provision in Dorset on Sunday Politics South this weekend.
