Kevin Brennan, Labour MP for Cardiff West and organiser of the project, said he hoped the song would show "there's more that unites than divides us".
He said: "Jo Cox was someone who really tried very hard until she got what was needed and that's a message within the song."

REM say they're "horrified" by the demos that feature on the new deluxe edition of their seminal 1991 album, Out Of Time.
"It's excruciating," said Michael Stipe at a Q&A session in London. "You're seeing me really stretch and really reach for something and often not getting there
"I'm not exaggerating to say that for me, as a creative person, it's me at my most vulnerable."
His bandmate, Mike Mills, even admitted that he could not bear to listen to the disc of demos - which includes an early, instrumental take of Losing My Religion - in its entirety.
"I listened to just enough of each one to know I wasn't going to be completely humiliated.
"Any recording musician will tell you that demos stay hidden for a reason", he added.
"They're like sausages and laws: You don't really want to see how they're made."
Childish Gambino hottest record and world exclusive for Annie Mac

Annie Mac has played the world premiere of Redbone, the newest track from actor, writer and musician Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino.
Glover, whose last album Because the Internet was Grammy nominated in 2015, has written and is currently starring in the massive hit show Atlanta.
The new track is taken from his forthcoming album Awaken, My Love! which is out on 2 December.
Sadly no chat with him this time but sit back and enjoy some soulful melodies.
Former radio 1 DJ Mark Goodier ' recovering' from stroke

DJ Mark Goodier is "recovering quite well" after having a stroke at the beginning of November.
A spokesman for his Wisebuddah production company said there had been no complications and that the 55-year-old hoped to be back at work before the end of 2016.
The news came to light through an automated email response Goodier set up which read: "I am away from work for a time recovering from a stroke and so not seeing email every day."
The duo have got to celebrate than the bloke in video as they have become the first act in 2016 to top both the US dance/electronic songs & albums charts simultaneously.
According to Billboard, the last act to achieve the feat was was Major Lazer with Peace Is the Mission and Lean On on 14 November 2015.
Kanye West reveals who he would have voted for...
...had he bothered to vote in the US presidential election, that is.
Kanye made the announcement at a gig in San Jose, California.
Despite the best efforts of his celebrity mates like Jay Z and Beyonce, Donald Trump of course, emerged victorious.
And it seems he could have an extra vote to count.
At the same gig, Yeezy also apparently reaffirmed his intention to run for president in 2020.

Partner of Whitey Houston's daughter ordered to pay damages after her death

Nick Gordon, the partner of Bobbi Kristina Brown has been ordered by a US judge to pay her estate $36m (£29m) in a wrongful death case.
The daughter of pop star Whitney Houston, Brown was found unresponsive in a bath in her Atlanta home in 2015. She died in hospital after being in a coma for six months.
Her family accused Mr Gordon of plying her with a "toxic mixture" of drugs before putting her face down in the water.
He has not been criminally charged in connection with her death.

You know it's nearly THAT time of year again when you over-hear plans being made in work for a team-trip to a hipster bowling lane / fancy restaurant / the pub (delete where applicable).
And also when lovers-of-all-things-British-Indie, The Killers, announce their annual Christmas single.
Which is exactly what they've just done.
This year's offering; a cover of the Bing Crosby classic I”ll Be Home For Christmas will also feature on an a new album entitled Don't Waste Your Wishes, which will pull together all of the Vegas band's festive musical gifts from over the past 10 years or so in one place.
Front-man Brandon Flowers duets with his old school teacher Ned Humphrey Hansen (no relation) on the Bing cover, which will no doubt be available in the stores for Christmas.

Sticking with the Latino vibe for a moment as Jennifer Lopez surprised guests at the 17th annual Latin Grammy Awards last night when she performed with and presented an award to her ex-husband Marc Anthony.
US Magazine Billboard reports that the former couple "sealed the Latin Grammys with a kiss".
J-Lo presented her former hubby with a person of the year award, for his long-service to the industry then later joined him on stage for to perform the Pimpinela song Olvidame y Pega la Vuelta.
"Marc is a living legend,” she said from the stage.
"He is a magical and pure artist giving away classics that will stay forever. He will always be many things in my life."
Latino love machine Ricky Martin is the latest music star to head of to Las Vegas for a lucrative residency.
The Livin' la Vida Loca singer is following in the footsteps of artists like Celine Dion, Elton John and Britney Spears with a string of dates starting in April and ending in September.
He also announced his engagement to Syrian-born artist Jwan Yosef, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
"I heard at least 40 million people visit Vegas every year looking for shows and so I'm going to be able to perform to all of these cultures in one place and at the same time my family will be stable and sitting in one city."
...well, I'm not, I'm in work actually. But only for eight more hours, then who knows what is waiting for us?
