  1. And finally, the worst song of 2016 is...

    Justin Timberlake

...now we know we've hit you lot with a fair few end-of-year music lists today.  In fact we could probably make a little list just of today's top five lists if we wanted to (we won't).

But we think we've saved the best for last.

While Beyonce's Lemonade won a best album award and Coldplay at Wembley Stadium got given a gig ticket of the year gong...what about this year's worst song?

Time magazine have published their Top 10 Worst Songs of 2016 in order.  And the honour this year goes to good old JT.  No not John Terry.  Justin Timberlake, for his "uninspired" track Can't Stop The Feeling, from the movie Trolls.

The mag takes up the argument here: "The insipid earworm - which was ostensibly recorded for an animated movie about trolls - became essentially unavoidable at any social gathering where someone in attendance was likely to use the phrase “cut loose.”

Quote Message: Forget the feeling - just please, please stop this song."

Justin's ex childhood missus Britney Spears is publicly shamed for her track Private Show, as is Iggy Azeala...she has to take one for (the) Team.

And Time clearly don't approve of Mike Posner taking a pill in Ibiza either.

It's not big or clever Michael.

  2. Justin Bieber hits the ice in Milton Keynes

    Sarah Jenkins

    BBC Local Live

Justin Bieber visited Planet Ice in Milton Keynes yesterday afternoon to play ice hockey with the Manchester Storm team.

    Justin Bieber in Milton Keynes

The Canadian pop star played with the Manchester side back in October, and invited them down to skate with him ahead of his show at The O2 Arena last night.

Planet Ice first received a call on Friday to organise the visit, but it was kept under wraps until now.

Bieber flew to Luton Airport before heading to the ice rink.

The group skated for an hour between 15:00-16:00 and were joined by MK Lightning player Luc Johnson.

A spokesperson from Planet Ice said: "Justin was a very good skater."

  3. Get Involved: Best Album of 2016?

Cheers for getting involved today team.

Clay Corry got in touch via Facebook and was clearly unimpressed with Rolling Stone's decision to name Beyonce's Lemonade as their best record.

"What a joke!"...'nuff said there Clay.

Wilson and Claudio below Tweeted us with albums they thought were more deserving of top spot, from Panic! at the Disco and Bastille respectively.

  4. Fly Fishing by JR Hartley...or Classic House by Pete Tong?

Dance legend/veteran/statesman (delete as appropriate) Pete Tong has borrowed from a classic telly advert for his new album of club classics, played with the Heritage Orchestra.

Following the huge success of the BBC Ibiza Proms of 2015, Pete and the band are on the road with the show and are due to play in Birmingham on Wednesday night, with a sold out London show at the end of the week.

  5. The xx share video for comeback track

The xx have shared the US-shot video for their comeback track On Hold.

Filmed in the Texas town of Marfa, we should warn it does feature some naked male buttocks doing press-ups and some larking about in a supermarket trolley.

We condone neither of these activities.

  6. Neil Young calls on President Obama to support under fire protesters

    Rolling Stone magazine

    Neil Young

Canadian rock 'n' roll legend Neil Young has posted a heartfelt Facebook message of solidarity to Standing Rock protesters.

The 71-year-old has asked outgoing President Barack Obama to step in after after police fired rubber bullets and water cannons at protesters at the site of proposed Dakota Access Pipeline, resulting in nearly 20 protesters being sent to hospital.

Read more about the controversial pipeline.

The Rockin' In The Free World singer said: "We are calling upon you, President Barack Obama, to step in and end the violence against the peaceful water protectors at Standing Rock immediately."

Oil companies say the pipeline will provide a more cost-effective, efficient means of transporting crude oil, rather than shipping barrels by train.

    He added:

Quote Message: Your [Barack Obama] growing activism in support of freedom over repression, addressing climate change, swiftly replacing a destructive old industries with safe, regenerative energy, encouraging holistic thinking in balance with the future of our planet; that activism will strengthen and shed continued light on us all.

"These worthy goals must be met for all the world's children and theirs after them. This is our moment for truth."

Neil clearly still has a heart of gold after all these years.

    BBC 6 Music

    Kate Bush and Theresa May
Image caption: Bush described May as "a very intelligent woman"

As we told you earlier (scroll down) British singer-songwriter Kate Bush is currently locked in a midweek album chart battle with Little Mix.

Now she may well have hurt, or indeed helped her chances (depending on your general view) of winning that race to number one, after describing the woman at number 10; UK's prime minister Theresa May as "wonderful".

Speaking to Maclean's magazine, she said having a female prime minister is "the best thing that's happened" to the UK for a long time.

"I actually really like her," the British singer-songwriter added.

Robbie said: "I'm really looking forward to playing this intimate show for Radio 2 ... the station and the audience have always been such great supporters of mine."

The Angels singer admitted earlier this week that he once made the "stoned" decision to send one of his Brit award trophies to England footballer Wayne Rooney, after the striker had picked up an injury.

    Radiohead

Beyonce topping the Rolling Stone's 50 Best Albums of 2016 list (see below) got us talking in the office about our favourite albums released this year.

And now we want to know yours.

Did Thom Yorke and Radiohead put goosebumps on your neck?  Or was it all about Kanye's return?  Or Little Mix?  Perhaps it was none of the above?

And remember there are no right or wrong answers.  Honest.

  18. Kate Bush is winning midweek chart battle with Little MIx

    Kate Bush

Kate Bush could be heading for a number one album for the first time in 30 years.

Her latest record, Before the Dawn, features recordings from her 2014 Hammersmith Apollo London residency of the same name, so listen out for yourself if you were there and especially loud.

It's just 5,000 sales ahead of current number one, Little Mix's Glory Days, so looks set to be tight finish.

This one could be decided in a single household if a Bush-loving mum or dad decides to hide their Mix-mad daughter or son's pocket money.

    Little Mix

The girls are certainly saying all the right things to inspire a #comeback and hang on to their crown though.

Kate's last chart-topper was the compilation album The Whole Story, which took the top spot in 1987.

  20. Beyonce's Lemonade tops Rolling Stone 50 Best Albums of 2016

    Beyonce

Sticking with the Rolling Stone for a second and while it's long been one of America's favourite fizzy drinks, it seems that Lemonade is now also the US music mag's favourite record too.

The pop (geddit?) sensation tops their list of 50 best LP's of the year, pipping David Bowie's Blackstar, which comes in second and Chance the Rapper's Coloring Book mixtape in third.

Here's how their top 10 looks in reverse order:

    10. Young Thug - Jeffery

    9. Leonard Cohen - You Want It Darker

    8. Kanye West - The Life of Pablo

    7. Rolling Stones - Blue & Lonesome

    6. Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool

    5. Frank Ocean - Blond

    4. Car Seat Headrest - Teens of Denial

    3. Chance the Rapper - Coloring Book

    2. David Bowie - Blackstar

    1. Beyonce - Lemonade

As you can see, lo-fi indie rockers Car Seat Headrest (who we know 6 Music's Steve Lamacq is a fan of) make a surprise appearance in fourth spot.

So that's good news for any kids making angry music in their bedroom / garage.  Keep it up guys...and turn it up!
