Until then, scroll back down for news on the latest Download festival abroad, big tour dates for your diary from Adele, Mos Def and Bruno Mars and find out who won what at Aria Awards (think The Brits but with Aussie accents).

  3. Download Festival to launch in Madrid 2017

    NME

    Download

Well we all hope that Justin Bieber is on better behaviour tonight when he performs in Madrid.

Fans of heavier-sounding music (maybe not Beliebers then) in the Spanish capital have been boosted by the news that Linkin Park, System of a Down and Prophets of Rage will all headline the city's first ever Download festival.

The heavy rock/metal festival, traditionally held at Donnington Park, appears to be stretching out its tenticles, after having previously announced that it would put on a Paris leg next summer.

Manchester United goalkeeper and Madrid lad David de Gea will be happy with this news having tweeted his joy at seeing Slipknot and Korn’s Prepare For Hell tour at the Manchester Arena last year.

  4. Are albums an outdated format?

    Mark Savage

    Music reporter

    Flume

Well, the big winner at The Arias Flume seems to think so.

The 25-year-old Australian record producer picked up five awards today at the Aussie version of the Brits... so he should know what he's talking about.

He told the BBC that he's just as happy nowadays working on movie soundtracks or making music for video games, as he is producing his own records.

    The times they are a-changing.

During a press interview, Desha Head Taylor said Phife finished recording a new solo album before his death.

“His solo album will be out probably sometime during the first quarter of 2017.  We’re working on it now," she said.

"He completed his entire solo album before he transitioned, so we’re excited about releasing that."

  7. You Me At Six singer urges musicians to speak up about touts

    BBC Radio 1

You Me at Six were Annie Mac's Hottest Record on Radio 1 on Tuesday night with their latest track Swear.

But it was about the issue of touting which got singer Josh Franceschi most excited.

He spent a morning giving evidence in the House of Commons last week, in a hearing about the secondary ticketing market.

He has been outspoken in his criticism of sites which sell tickets at massively inflated prices.

"It was a new experience for sure ," he told Annie. "Its something that I feel quite passionate about and something that I hope will provoke some change for not only our fans but fans of live music in general.

Quote Message: I hope that me standing up and saying something will encourage other musicians to do the same because I feel like perhaps there's the fear of the unknown, like what happens if you say something about this massive beast that no-one's challenging.

"There's a lot of people with massive platforms that, if they used their voice, could really make a difference."

    Well said, sir.  Listen below.

  8. Bruno Mars sells a million tickets in a day

  11. Morrissey asks US car firm to provide a vegan option

    Clash

    Morrissey

Morrissey has written an open letter to General Motors asking them to offer customers a choice of vegan leather interiors.

He is due to play the Royal Oak Music Theatre, near Detroit later.

Morrissey said: "I’m writing to ask GM to make Chevy’s Volt and Bolt more eco-friendly by giving buyers the option to choose vegan leather interiors – including steering wheels and gear shifts."

The Volt and the Bolt are, respectively, hybrid and electric vehicles.

The singer added that cattle used for their leather in the cars' production were "branded on the face, electro-shocked, and beaten before they’re slaughtered and used to make leather interiors for car companies, including yours."

It's unconfirmed whether or not the leather runs smooth on the passenger seats of these cars.

  12. Chance The Rapper does Drake in the Live Lounge

  14. BreakingAdele to play two Wembley Stadium gigs

    Adele

And this just in...second baby or not Adele has just announced that she will be complete her World Tour with two concerts at Wembley Stadium.

She has posted a video to Facebook - which you'll need to watch there as she uses her usual 'earthy' language.

The double-header will take place at England's national football stadium in Adele's hometown London on Thursday 29 June and Saturday 1 July.

The gigs are being billed as 'The Finale', but we're not reading too much into that title yet.  Honest.

  15. Baby news - boom!

    Adele

Now what happens in Phoenix should probably stay in Phoenix, but apparently on Monday night lovable-Londoner Adele let an Arizona audience in on her plans to extend her family.

The 28-year-old British singer arrived home yesterday to a sweet message from four-year-old son Angelo, who it seems could soon have a brother or sister after his mum let slip "I'm going to have another baby!" to the crowd during the final gig of her tour, according to AP.

Of course, she may just have been demob happy after completing her first tour in four years.

Either way she'll have to get a move on as she's back out on the road again for tour dates Down Under in February and March.

    Peter Andre Emily MacDonagh

In other baby news (a brand new feature is born!)...Mysterious Girl singer and gym-enthusiast, Peter Andre has beaten Adele to the punch, after he and wife Emily MacDonagh welcomed their second child into the world on Monday.

The 43-year-old, who was two other kiddies from his relationship with model Katie Price, tweeted the news of the birth of their as-yet-unnamed baby boy yesterday afternoon.

That's the end of baby news for now.  Stay broody everybody.

  16. Sex Pistol Steve Jones 'couldn't handle fame'

    BBC Radio 5 live

Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones has said that the band's sudden fame was “too much too soon”.

Speaking to 5 live, Jones said the punk outfit’s infamous appearance on Thames Television’s Today programme with Bill Grundy was the “beginning of the end”.

Host Grundy encouraged the band members to behave outrageously and Jones repeatedly swore on live TV pre-watershed.

“We were going along steady before the Grundy thing”, he said. “It shot us into a different stratosphere to where I don’t think we could handle it.”

The Sex Pistols are marking 40 years since the release of Anarchy in the UK.

  17. Fabric owner calls for clubbers to exert 'personal responsibility'

    Fabric

The owner of London super club Fabric, which has won a reprieve from closure after agreeing to some strict new drug and security rules, has called on future club patrons to take more responsibility for their actions.

The venue lost its licence after the death of a two clubbers from drugs, prompting a wave of protest from fans and DJs including Radio 1's Annie Mac and Pete Tong.

Earlier this week, it was announced it would re-open after negotiations with Islington Council.

The new rules include a ban on clubbers under the age of 19 and a lifetime ban for those caught with, or selling drugs inside the club.

"We can't just take the fall for people's actions, people have to take responsibility for their own actions," owner Cameron Leslie told Newsbeat.

"That's why we'll police that side of things very heavily - to protect ourselves as a business and for the safety of people in the place."

    BBC Newsbeat

Now he was having a lovely old time in the Catalan capital only yesterday, enjoying a pre-gig training session with Neymar and meeting Messi, Suarez and co...

Justin Bieber (right centre) with FC Barcelona stars

But what a difference a day makes for Justin Bieber.

That's after a video emerged online that seems to have landed the 22-year-old Canadian in a wee bit of Barcelona bother.

In it, he appears to punch a fan who was reaching into his car. The video shows the unnamed Spanish man with a bloodied mouth after the encounter.

In Justin's defence he did warn his legions of fans back in May, that he no longer wanted them to ask him for photos because they make him "feel like a zoo animal".

    An animal that bites back.

    Beliebers be warned.
