West Yorkshire MP accused of wasting parliament's time
Shipley's Conservative MP is being accused of trying to waste time in parliament so that the government can't ratify a treaty on tackling violence against women.
After Mr Davies had finished, Labour's Thangam Debbonaire told the Commons: "That is 78 minutes that I believe I'm never going to get back."
He argued it was "sexist" to say the focus of the convention should only be on violence against women. The bill has been supported by the government by 135 votes to 2.

West Yorkshire MP accused of wasting parliament's time
Shipley's Conservative MP is being accused of trying to waste time in parliament so that the government can't ratify a treaty on tackling violence against women.
Earlier today Philip Davies spoke for 78 minutes against draft new laws which would force Britain to adopt what's known as the Istanbul Convention.

Fourteen parakeets and two doves have been stolen from an aviary in Batley.

In total, two doves, seven parakeets, four rosella parakeets and three kakariki parakeets were taken.
Insp Mohammed Rauf says: "I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or saw any suspicious activity to get in contact.
"Likewise if any bird fanciers or pet shops are offered birds for sale in a deal that seems suspicious the please call."
