Jukebox Jack: Re: Joel Sparks - I've watched a lot of Man U games this season and I'm telling you, not one team above them should be worried!

KB: Calm down. It's only Feyonoord. HOWEVER ... I believe that good results follow good performances & we have been playing well :)

Dennis Ethan: Told you the Man United midfield was crying out for Michael Carrick. His calmness is just terrfic

  5. 'I hope it's a new start'

    Manchester United 4-0 Feyenoord

    Henrikh Mkhitaruyan

Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan: "It was a pleasure to play again and start the game. I try to do my best and it's a very good result.

"It has been difficult to watch the team from the sidelines but you have to have passion and work hard. I hope it is a new start for me."

  6. 'Plenty more to come'

    Manchester United 4-0 Feyenoord

    Wayne Rooney

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney: "It was a good win, we are pleased to get four goals. The second goal killed the game, at 1-0 you never know what can happen. It's a great feeling to score goals for this club, I am pleased and there is plenty more to come."

Does it feel more special after all the fuss recently? "All that's created by people like yourself asking questions, making a big deal out of nothing. I didn't set foot in the wedding and it's a shame to have to speak about it on nights like this."

  7. Post update

    Manchester United 4-0 Feyenoord

Will Manchester United play like that against West Ham on Sunday? That is the question.

David Bushell: Where are all the Utd doubters tonight ? Brilliant performance.

JavelBleach: Against my better nature, I actually feel a bit relieved for #Mourinho!

Charlie Smith: Listening to their fans tonight I guess it's safe to say that THIS TIME United are definitely "back again".....again.

  9. Dzeko at the treble

    Roma 4-1 Viktoria Plzen

    Perotti

A good night for Roma topped off by an Edin Dzeko hat-trick but keep an eye out for Diego Perotti's goal. He performed a Rabona from the left side of the area which chipped the keeper. The look on his face told us it was a cross but hey, it still looked good.

    Roma are through.

  10. What do they need?

    Manchester United 4-0 Feyenoord

So a draw in the final group game against Zorya Luhansk will be enough for Manchester United to reach the final 32.

  11. FULL-TIME

    Manchester United 4-0 Feyenoord

Impressive. Most impressive. But United have not qualified yet.

Raymond: Good job United. Good work for a deserved lead. Rooney with a goal and an assist. Not a bad night after all.

KN: It's slowly starting to gel for #mufc & Jose. Performances been good last few games. Now the result to go with it. Hopeful.

  13. GOAL - Manchester United 4-0 Feyenoord

    Jesse Lingard

A lovely little flourish to end the night and a chance for the Jesse Lingard/Paul Pogba dance school to commission another celebration.

Lingard plays a one-two, bursts into the area and then hits a low left-footed curler which Brad Jones can only touch onto the inside of the post and in.

  14. Henrikh's here

    Manchester United 3-0 Feyenoord

    Simon Stone

    BBC Sport at Old Trafford

It has been over two months since Henrikh Mkhitaryan started a game for Manchester United.

Fair to say this one went better than his last, when he was substituted at half-time against Manchester City.

The cheers as he was going off will make the Armenian think he has a future at Old Trafford after all.

Feyenoord fans footnote. They have been told to remain in their seats until the areas surrounding the ground have been cleared.

Initially, this message was delivered in English, then Dutch, although not very well according to the official Uefa translator, which explains the ironic jeers.

  15. Great save

    Manchester United 3-0 Feyenoord

Jesse Lingard replaced Henrikh Mkhitaryan and he is eager to get a goal, firing in high and hard and forcing Brad Jones into action.

    Henrikh Mkhitaryan
  16. Elsewhere...

Athletic Bilbao 3-2 Sassuolo; Roma 3-1 Viktoria Plzen

Aritz Aduriz has been on target for Athletic Bilbao again and they lead Sassuolo 3-2 in Group F. Genk also lead Rapid Vienna 1-0 so both sides could be safely through if things stay the same.

Elsewhere Edin Dzeko has two goals on the night and Roma lead Viktoria Plzen 3-1. That result will see them though in Group E.

    Group F
  17. Post update

    Manchester United 3-0 Feyenoord

Jesse Lingard came on when I wasn't looking and he goes close to a fourth, a curling shot which Brad Jones pushes clear.

Joel Sparks: This is a Man Utd team with Zlatan not quite firing and Martial still to come in. That has to have everyone else worried.

  19. SUBSTITUTION

    Manchester United 3-0 Feyenoord

Wayne Rooney will not be breaking any records tonight - he's replaced by Memphis Depay.

    Memphis Depay
  20. Post update

    Manchester United 3-0 Feyenoord

Plenty of positives for Jose Mourinho to take from this game. You can't get carried away with a Europa League group stage win but I've not seen United play with such an attacking outlook in a long, long time. Memphis Depay is coming on too.
