Celtic Connections 2017 opening night with Kathryn Tickell

Kathryn Tickell presents the opening night of the 2017 Celtic Connections festival, with artists including Katrine Polwart, Rachel Sermanni, Aziza Brahim and Laura Marling.

Celtic Connections opening night: Glasgow's winter celebration of music from the Celtic world and beyond opens in grand style. Kathryn Tickell is at the city's Royal Concert Hall to introduce a performance by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jules Buckley, joined by leading artists from this year's festival, including Scotland's Katrine Polwart, Rachel Sermanni and Adam Holmes, Saharawi singer Aziza Brahim, Cara Dillon and Declan O'Rourke from Ireland plus, for the whole of the second half, English singer-songwriter Laura Marling. Introduced by Kathryn Tickell.
