They have to go on and build on this – make sure this is not
the pinnacle of their careers. They want to be Premier League and England stars
of the future, they have to build on this to get to the top. We have two World
Cup-winning teams – this is unprecedented! It needs to be celebrated more.
They have proved they are winners. Hopefully managers will see they can cope with pressure to win matches.

England win Under 17 World Cup
Trevor Sinclair
Ex-England and Man City winger
Epic scenes! They scored the most goals, conceded the least
and that shows they deserved to win it , which they did in style!
'They played with freedom'
England win the U17 World Cup
Danny Mills
Ex-England defender
The goal before half-time was crucial. It gave them fresh
legs, and they had a real go at Spain. Foden was exceptional, and is an
absolute talent. They got behind the Spanish defence, like we wanted them to.
We often talk about England’s mentality, they looked down but they played with
freedom and expressed themselves.

'Give the lads a chance at club level'
Paul Simpson
England Under-20 manager
The whole game has to join together and give these players a
focus and give them an opportunity. We have shown they can compete in their age
groups at world level, and they must be given a chance down the line.
'That's the way to do it!'
England coach Steve Cooper speaking to BBC Sport before being engulfed by his players: "I am just so proud, we were 2-0 down and we played our way
out, we didn’t stop, stuck to our style – and that’s the way to do it."
