  3. Rules for being a Victorian policeman

How would you like to have been a copper in 1839?

Have a read of this tweeted this afternoon by West Yorkshire Police, it's great, although we're not too sure about its authenticity.

Apart from having to walk 20 miles a day, you weren't allowed to wear anything but your uniform, just in case someone accused you of spying on the public!

  6. Bradford's flood strategy throws up 'question marks'

A senior politician in Bradford is warning that the council's proposed flooding strategy is "throwing up question marks."

    Flood

Leader of the district's Liberal Democrats Jeanette Sunderland brought plans to combat floods in the district before a scrutiny meeting last night.

Council officers argued the proposed flood management strategy would allocate help and information to the flood-hit areas that need it.

  7. HS2 proposals laid out for public

In about six years' time work is due to start on HS2, but how will the controversial new rail service affect Leeds?

Well the people behind the scheme have released a fact sheet that aims to address people's concerns and questions about HS2

    HS2 artists impression

It includes some artist impressions of how Leeds station will look.

HS2 are proposing to build five new platforms that will connect to the existing building.

But it will mean that roads around the station will have to be redesigned.

  8. The Leeds United fan that REALLY wants promotion

Here's a bold statement from a Leeds United fan, although I'm not sure he was expecting 5,000 retweets!

At the time of writing this, if they don't go up this season, it'll cost Josh £99,080:

  11. West Yorkshire in pictures: Holmfirth at sunset

The year is 2121, the machines have taken over the planet and pushed mankind back into the caves. As we fight for survival...

Oh no hang on, that's Holmfirth as captured at sunset last night by Andy Leader and sent into the BBC Weather Watchers.

    Sorry my mistake.

    Holmfirth
  12. Can your TV help the police with an investigation?

If you've got a TV like the one below and you don't like it any more, why not send it off to West Yorkshire Police... to be burnt.

    TV SET

West Yorkshire Police are appealing for a set, like the one on the picture, to reconstruct a house fire that they're investigating

Officers say it's the last item they need to make the reconstruction complete and they're asking the public if they can help.

They say that "the TV’s are only required to furnish the room to replicate the furniture in the home and will be destroyed in the reconstruction."
