To mark Sir Elton's 50th anniversary of his song-writing partnership with Bernie Taupin, the pair are giving budding filmmakers the chance to make videos for their as-yet-video-less classic hits Rocket Man, Tiny Dancer and Bennie and the Jets.
The winner of The Cut will be given "everything you need" to make bring a creative vision to life, but as creativity doesn't put bread on the table there's also $10,000 up for grabs too to help support "future endeavours".
Back and tougher than ever, the world-famous Fabric nightclub reopened its doors to clubbers over the weekend after months of closure.
Tougher security measures at the London venue, including a zero tolerance drugs policy and no admission for under 19s are part of new licensing conditions.
The above sign outside asked people to "respect our zero policy to drugs", adding that "Anyone found with illegal drugs will be banned from the venue and reported to the police."
But those who did get in were apparently thrilled, with 27-year-old Ricky Payne, who was there for the re-opening telling Newsbeat it was "brilliant" the club was back.
"Where else do we have to go? It is the best club in the world - an institution."

Well, in the age of social media, we add a third. Whenever Noel Gallagher is mentioned in a news story, brother Liam will have his say sooner or later.
Earlier, we told you about Noel's High Flying Birds touring with U2 in the summer (scroll down).

Jonny Greenwood to play There Will Be Blood live on stage

Radiohead band member and composer Jonny Greenwood has confirmed that he will be appearing on stage with a live orchestra to play his highly acclaimed score to the 2007 film There Will be Blood.
Greewood was nominated for a Grammy for the score.
The Oscar-winning film - directed by Paul Thomas Anderson - starred Daniel Day Lewis as morally corrupt oil magnate Daniel Plainview.
Greenwoof has since written scores for We Need to Talk About Kevin, and The Master and Inherent Vice - both for Anderson.

On the face of it, there are all the hallmarks of a normal 70th birthday bash here.
Four generations, coming back to where it all began to drink, be merry and sing classic songs from the last six decades.
Just one major difference tonight: The birthday boy is not actually here. Well, not in body anyway but definitely in spirit.
Thousands of David Bowie fans young and old (and everything in between) braved the London Tube strike on Sunday to make the pilgrimage to his hometown Brixton, first to see the painted mural tribute over the road from the station and then on to the Academy for an evening of musical celebration on what would have been his 70th birthday...almost a year on from his shock death.

‘Celebrating David Bowie With Gary Oldman And Friends’ saw the main man's many various old bandmates and friends join with special guests to produce an incredible greatest hits set that would've brought Bowie himself "a big smile".
That's according to former keyboardist Mike Garson who, unlike the 6 Music listeners, said his favourite record was Aladdin Sane, as he "really let me go crazy on the piano on that one". He did so again all evening, as did Earl Slick on guitar, who, for the record, prefers the "experimental" Station to Station.

On a night of many various vocal tributes, Dave's old friend Gary Oldman opens up proceedings with a rendition of Dead Man Walking from his 1997 album Earthling, but things really get going when Bernard Fowler strides out like a real Rebel Rebel.
Guatemalan singer-songwriter Gaby Moreno belts out a powerful Five Years; the track that launched Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars into orbit, before Bowie lookalike La Roux gets her groove on for Golden Years and then Keane singer Tom Chaplin contemplates Life on Mars - possibly for the first time.
Def Lepard front man Joe Elliot, backed by the London Community Gospel Choir, treats us to a roaring version of All The Young Dudes, which Bowie the magnanimous gifted to Mott The Hoople.
Spandau Ballet's Tony Hadley appears for a crack at Changes before Angelo Moore treats us to a classic dream double of Ziggy Stardust and Mooonage Daydream.
An emotional evening ends with a rousing Heroes from Fowler, who declares the evening "a celebration of life". In that vain, he returns for an encore with The Jean Genie...oh and Simon Le Bon of Duran Duran fame, who simply says Let's Dance. Most of us agree this is what Dave would've wanted.

The finale arrives with Under Pressure, as sang by Joe Sumner and Catherine Russell.
No room for Modern Love sadly or Absolute Beginners, but selecting such a mammoth set-list must have been an absolute nightmare even for the experts, like tonight's music director Scrote (whose favourite Bowie record is Heroes by the way). Try picking Bowie's best era, let alone album or song.
"David was a true artist who never sat down to write a 'hit record'," says guitarist Slick.
"He was for real. He had something special, that got to people on a deep level.
"He would've thought this was ridiculous that we are doing this. In a funny way!"
Ultimately there was no Lazarus style resurrection from the birthday boy himself, which while it would have certainly shocked, given his many previous re-incarnations would not have surprised.
As his son Duncan Jones says below, 'Happy Birthday' David. We're sorry you missed it.
To be honest, we kind of thought that this might have faded away like most people's hangovers a day or two after New Year's Eve.
However, Mariah has taken to social media (where else?) to record a new message in which she again lays the blame for her disastrous televised performance at the feet of the production company.
In this tape she accuses Dick Clark Productions of "foiling" her appearance, even adding #thefoilers - which to us sounds a little like the name of a folk rock band.
Dick Clark Productions have previously denied any wrongdoing.
Hollywood foreign press goes La La for new musical

The Hollywood musical La La Land, which stars Ryan Gosling as a struggling jazz musician, has broken the record for the most Golden Globe Awards, winning seven prizes.
It won every award it was nominated for - including best musical or comedy film, best director, screenplay, score and song.
Gosling and co-star Emma Stone also won in the acting categories.

David Bowie would have been 70 years old yesterday and to mark that fact, almost exactly one year on from his death, 6 Music asked listeners to select their favourite album from the great man...
...and the results are in.
As you may have already surmised from our opening post and picture, his classic 1971 record Hunky Dory came out on top and will now be played out in full on Gideon Coe's show tonight from 23:00 GMT.
We wonder did most of you know your favourite Bowie record right away? Or did you ch-ch-ch-ch-change your mind a few times along the way.
The first trailer for the live action remake of Disney's Beauty and the Beast basically broke YouTube and now, we can hear Harry Potter actress sing in the central role of Belle.
She's no Paige O'Hara, who voiced the original Belle in the 1991 animation but she can certainly hold the melody.
It's really just a shame about Ewan McGregor's comedy French impersonation about halfway through.

Take four of music's most famous Irish men (no, not Boyzone), add showbiz's biggest Irish Mancunian and what have you got? "The greatest show on earth" apparently.
We'll find out this summer for sure as Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds open up for U2 at a string of massive stadium gigs across Europe, beginning at Twickenham on 8 July and ending in Brussels on 1 August, taking in a homecoming pilgrimage to Croke Park, Dublin on 22 July.
Bono, The Edge et al will also bring their 1987 masterpiece The Joshua Tree to life once more in Berlin, Barcelona and Rome as well as Paris and Amsterdam.
In his usual humble manner, the former Oasis 'chief' said:

Classic rock magazines saved in new business deal
The Daily Telegraph
Magazine titles including Classic Rock, Prog and Metal Hammer have been saved after their publisher went into administration last month.
The magazines' former owners Future Publishing has bought back the titles, along with the Golden Gods Awards and the Classic Rock Awards.
Future sold the titles to Team Rock in 2013 for £10.2m and has now bought them back for a bargain £800,000.
Team Rock went into administration in December, putting 70 staff out of work.
Future has not yet confirmed how many of the magazines' staff will keep their jobs.

Let It Shine ratings beat The Voice UK

BBC One's new show Let It Shine has narrowly beaten ITV's The Voice UK in Saturday night's ratings battle,
Barlow's vocal talent competition attracted an average of 6.3 million viewers while Sir Tom's vocal talent competition drew an average of 5.9 million.
Let It Shine aims to find cast members for a new Take That musical.
The Voice UK saw the return of Sir Tom, who was dropped by the BBC from its version of the show in 2015.
Judging by Barlow's tweet below, no-one should take the ratings battle too seriously...

Tributes paid to 1960s ear-worm creator Peter Sarstedt

Tributes have been paid to singer-songwriter Peter Sarstedt, best known for the song Where Do You Go To (My Lovely), who has died at the age of 75.
The song topped the UK singles charts in February 1969 and remained number one for four weeks.
It also won the Ivor Novello award for best song composition.
Indian-born Sarstedt died after a six-year battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a family statement said.

Arrests made over Kim Kardashian West robbery
Sixteen people have been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of Kanye West's wife Kim Kardashian West in Paris in October.
The American reality TV star was robbed at gunpoint in her luxury apartment by at least two men dressed as police officers.
They escaped with an estimated €10m (£8.7m; $10.5m) in jewellery.
Kanye was in concert in New York at the time and cut the show short after hearing the news.

The men were detained in early morning raids in the Paris region, Normandy and the French Riviera following three months of investigations.
After a self-imposed social media silence, Kim has recently started posting pictures again as she gets back to focusing on her family life.

Ed Sheeran: Record breaker
