Disputed railway bridge approved
Harry Parkhill
BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire
A bridge to cross over the railway on Lincoln's Brayford Wharf has been approved after an appeal by Network Rail.
Network RailCopyright: Network Rail
The bridge (artists impression pictured above) was originally rejected by The City of Lincoln Council because it didn't include plans for a lift to provide access for wheelchair users.
Plans for a bridge over the crossing go back to 2013, but Network Rail said it couldn't afford to build a bridge with wheelchair access in 2015.
Network RailCopyright: Network Rail
Network Rail says it's delighted the plans have been approved because it's one of the "highest risk level crossings in the region".
It previously said the bridge was necessary to discourage pedestrians from "misusing the crossing and putting their lives at risk".
Stop motorists being 'ripped off' by parking fines, says MP
Jake Zuckerman
Journalist, BBC Look North
There's a growing problem across our area of private parking companies wrongly issuing tickets, according to MP Sir Greg Knight.
He's now leading a charge in Parliament to stop motorists being "ripped off".

The campaign is being welcomed by Simone Riley from Lincoln (pictured), who was fined after parking legally two years ago.

MP Sir Greg Knight says he thinks some companies should lose their right to get the motorists' info from the DVLA.
There's been a 28% increase in the number of tickets issued this year compared with last year.
The International Parking Community, who represent the industry, says that the vast majority of parking companies issue fines fairly.

MP calls on Government to do more to save BAE jobs
Katy Austin
BBC Look North, Business Correspondent
There have been further calls in Parliament to try and protect jobs at BAE Systems in Brough by bringing forward orders for replacing the Red Arrows Hawk jets.
BAE Systems has announced plans to cut almost 2,000 jobs across the UK, including 400 in Brough.
The former Labour Defence Minister, Kevan Jones, says he's concerned new jets would have to be built abroad and that the future of the display team would be uncertain.

But Defence Minister, Harriet Baldwin, said the Red Arrows aren't at risk:
Quote Message: I can reassure the House that we are continuing to work on export opportunities in terms of Kuwait and in terms of India and also that the RAF has 28 of the T2 aircraft and that there is no risk to the Red Arrows."
