  1. Five things we've learned today

    Alex Rhodes

    BBC Lincolnshire Live

That's it from me on what's been a very busy week locally, nationally and indeed internationally.

We'll be back Monday from 08:00 but until then I'll leave you with five things we've learned today:

    Have a good weekend.

  2. The weather this evening

    Keeley Donovan

Dry with mainly clear skies overnight, allowing a widespread frost to form as temperatures fall sharply.

Some isolated mist or fog patches may develop in some of the lower areas of the county as well.

  3. Stamford bar gives up alcohol license because of anti-social behaviour

    BBC Radio Lincolnshire

Barn 02, on Old Barn Passage, in Stamford has voluntarily surrendered its alcohol license before a review hearing that was due to be held today.

The Alcohol Licensing Team had accused the bar of serving alcohol after hours and being responsible for numerous examples of drunken and anti-social behaviour.

Today, before a hearing was due to take place, the owner of the premises said that he would no longer be contesting the evidence. As a result the bar can no longer serve alcohol.

  4. Traffic and travel: Car fire on A1173

    BBC Travel

A car fire is slowing traffic on the A1173 southbound in Stallingborough at the interchange.

Obviously we're heading towards rush hour so, if you can, avoid the area.

  5. 'Disabled people being forgotten' says Paralympian

    Alex Rhodes

    BBC Lincolnshire Live

More now on controversial plans for a new footbridge in Lincoln.

Disability campaigners aren't happy that no provisions have been made for disabled people in the designs and that Network Rail made no effort to consult them.

Former British Paralympian and disability campaigner Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson has said it's not acceptable:

Network Rail have apologised for the blunder and say they're investigating. A public consultation is now underway and a final decision will be made by Lincoln City Council next month.

  6. Hare Coursing: Specials give 'enhanced capability'

    Alex Rhodes

    BBC Lincolnshire Live

The Police and Crime Commissioner Marc Jones has been commenting on the decision to use Special Constables to clamp down on hare coursing.

He says it gives them options but it's not the only avenue they're pursuing:

Quote Message: This will give an enhanced capability to respond to the need. But we'll be looking at other ways of disrupting the behavior. This year, for the first time, I've funded the taking of dogs for example. from Marc Jones Lincolnshire Police and Crime Commissioner

  8. Weather Watchers: Skies clearing up across the county

    BBC Weather Watchers

It was a bit of a misty, muggy start this morning but it's clearing up nicely now.

Weather watcher Cathys Mummy sent us this one from Binbrook, she's clearly got a good zoom on her camera:

  9. Football fans successful in police dispersal order challenge

    BBC Radio Humberside

A father and son have successfully challenged the use of police powers that prevented them and around sixty other fans travelling to a Grimsby Town football match last year.

    Blundell Park in Grimsby

Officers from the Humberside force used a dispersal order to stop a coach load of Wrexham fans on their way to a match at Blundell Park in March and send them home.

Humberside Police said they accepted the claimants "should not have been issued with the notices".

    BBC Radio Humberside

Callum Bedford, 28, from Lairgate Place in Cleethorpes admitted a number of offences last year including taking part in adult sexual activity with an 18-month-old-girl.

He was identified as part of an international operation to root out and bring to justice those making and distributing indecent images of children via the internet.

  12. Child protection to be reviewed following Poppy Widdison case

    Laura Foster

    BBC Look North

The Children's Commissioner for England says she is investigating how children will be protected across the country following the death of Poppy Widdison from Grimsby.

The four-year-old died after being fed drugs by her mother and ex-partner.

Yesterday they were both jailed for thirteen years for child cruelty and drug offences.

Commissioner Anne Longfield says there was a failure to judge the appropriate level at which services should intervene.

Child protection thresholds will now be looked at to see if they need to be lowered.

  18. Anti-Trump protest planned in Lincoln

    Alex Rhodes

    BBC Lincolnshire Live

Unless you've been locked away in some kind of news-proof bunker then you'll know that today is the day that Donald Trump is inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States.

Not everyone is happy about it of course, even here in the UK where a number of protests are due to take place over the next few days.
