The sideboard is now in North Yorkshire, but the new owner says that this photo has written on it that it was taken in Burncross near Sheffield.

It also carries the name "G.H. Burton" and its current owner really wants to find the photo's real owner.

Yorkshire House, on the corner of Rougier Street and Station Rise, has been one of York's most iconic and prominent office blocks for the last 50 years.

Now, it's to be converted into a 120-bedroom hotel, with city councillors voting last night to allow the Malmaison chain to move into the city despite some objections to the plans.

A man's been badly injured in a road rage attack near Huddersfield.

A 24-year-old was left with a broken nose and a fractured eye socket after being assaulted on Thick Hollings Road in Meltham on Wednesday, 11 January. 

The attacker - who wore glasses - is described as being white, in his late 40s or early 50s - with grey, thinning hair. He was driving a blue Vauxhall Vectra.   

The government's looking for a company to build the 60 high speed trains that'll run on a new HS2 line between Yorkshire and London.

It's thought the trains will carry more than 300,000 passengers a day.

It's still a while before you'll be able to buy a ticket, the first part's not due to open until 2027 and the line won't come here until 2033. 

But this contract is worth £2.75bn and the successful company will be announced in 2019.

Melissa Loonam is a part-time mechanical engineering student at Sheffield Hallam University.

She's working with Rolls Royce on her apprenticeship. 

She's one of three finalists in the Higher or Degree Apprentice of the Year category in the Apprenticeship of the Year Awards taking place in London.  

The team from York Rescue boat have been put through their paces.  The volunteer team patrol York's rivers and helped out in the Christmas floods of 2015.

The final stage of the demolition of Northallerton’s former prison has begun.

The jail was shut down by the Ministry of Justice as part of a modernisation programme. 

The block is the last of the buildings to be demolished. That will leave five listed buildings which will all be used in future redevelopment of the area.

Next month Hambleton District Council will choose which developer partner they want to work with to transform the site. 

The council is hoping that it could be used for retail, leisure, education and housing.

The man charged with murder over the death of 16-year-old Leonne Weeks is Shea Peter Heeley, 18, of Doe Quarry Lane in Dinnington.

Leonne's body was found on Monday morning just off Lorden's Hill in Dinnington, she had multiple stab wounds.

A 26-year-old woman who was arrested over the Ms Weeks' death has been released on bail.
