Advice for using Dartmoor in the snow
With snow forecast over Dartmoor later, the park has issued advice for people planning to go there.
A spokesman said: "Whilst it is understandable that members of the public want to enjoy wintry conditions on Dartmoor, we are asking that a thought is spared for those whose daily lives and work can be severely affected by irresponsible behaviour during periods of snowfall."
Persistent rain and hill snow will quickly clear to leave a bitterly cold night with the risk of ice on untreated roads.
Sleet or snow showers are possible in places with winds remaining strong to gale force throughout. Minimum Temperature: 0C (32F).

Underground springs prompt ice road signs in Cornwall
James Churchfield
BBC Radio Cornwall
These road signs may be something you'd expect to see near a ski resort, or up a mountain, but they are in a low-lying part of Cornwall, on the A390 near Truro.
They've been put in place because of underground springs that can wash salt off the road after it has been gritted.
Peter Tatlow, Network Manager from Cormac Solutions said they are the first ice road signs in Cornwall, and gritting trucks will be applying more salt in the area as a matter of course.
