  1. I never meant to cause you any sorrow...

    Prince

...I never meant to cause you any pain either...but I'm afraid that's all from us for today folks, it's true.

But don't worry you can still scroll down for news of a Nick Cave tour, the End of the Road for Father John Misty (quite literally) and Super Bowl star Lady Gaga hitting back at the haters - don't hate the players Gaga, hate the game.

Oh and Steve Aoki talks to us exclusively about whether or not he'll be working with Louis T again.  We're leaning towards yes.

Now as the Grammys prepare to honour two pop legends (scroll down), we'll leave you with a beautiful Prince tribute courtesy of Gregory Porter, Mumford & Sons, Christine and The Queens and the gang on Jools Holland.

As Christine would say: A demain.

  2. MIA teases new anti-Trump track

    NME

    M.I.A

According to her latest release, she's not Rihanna, Madonna, Mariah or even Ariana.

    Correct, she's M.I.A.

Now that that's all cleared up we can tell you that the British/Sri Lankan artist has launched a scathing attack on US President Donald Trump in her new track P.O.W.A.

You can read the full lyrics below for yourself but they include "Throw up my finger and I’m taking on the (Trump) Tower" and "Super-kala fascist racist espi-ala-tazors".

  3. Grammys to honour George Michael and Prince at Sunday's show

    George Michael

The Recording Academy has announced its plans to honour two former winners - George Michael and Prince - at Sunday's ceremony in LA.

George, who won two Grammys, died on Christmas Day last year, while the music world also lost seven-time winner Prince in April.

Neil Portnow, President of The Recording Academy said: "George Michael and Prince were pop icons who showcased rare musical genius and otherworldly charisma.

"While each possessed a distinct style and sound, they were both adored by audiences worldwide.

Quote Message: The passings of two such creative innovators were a huge loss for the creative community; The Recording Academy is humbled to pay homage to their tremendous legacies on the Grammy stage."
    Prince

No details yet - but the Academy say they are planning to remember the duo with "two unforgettable tribute segments".

Confirmed performers on the night include Adele, Daft Punk, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Metallica and Katy Perry...so take your pick from that lot.

A French electro cover of Faith maybe? Or a heavy metal Raspberry Beret?  Perhaps presenter James Corden might even reprise his Wham cover (see video below).

I guess we'll see on Sunday night.

    Bob Marley

In light of the story earlier this week, about a treasure trove of live recordings of Bob Marley being restored after 40 years growing mould in the basement of a north-west London hotel, here are a few more famous cases of 'lost music'.

Have you ever heard the tale of the gold, the guns and the Joy Division tapes?

Also on the bill on the weekend of 31 August - 3 September will be the likes of Band Of Horses, Lucinda Williams, Amadou & Mariam, Ty Segall, Real Estate and Parquet Courts.

Singer Mike Duce admitted: "We've been rehearsing it and I've been worried that I sound like a man trying to sound like a young attractive woman, which is what it is really isn't it?"

"I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I'm proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too.

  13. Steve Aoki: 'No doubt' me and Louis will release more music

    Kev Geoghegan

    Arts and entertainment reporter

    Steve Aoki

American producer and DJ Steve Aoki says he has no doubt that he will release more music with One Direction's Louis Tomlinson.

The pair collaborated on the track Just Hold On - which was released just before Christmas.

Aioki, who is the subject of a Grammy-nominated Netflix documentary I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, admits he had no idea how big Louis' other band were before he started working with him in the months following 1D's announcement of the hiatus last year

"When we started working in studio, I loved their music but I didn’t know that much about the band, I didn't know about their fandom, about the whole culture that surrounds them and how massive that was, and he never brought it up.

Quote Message: When we debuted the song on The X Factor and when the song came out, that's when I realised this was massive, this wasn't just a small section of fans, this was an institution, like an army of fans."

And the DJ, who has upcoming projects with rappers including US chart-topper Migos, says he is determined the collaboration won't be a one-off.

"Me and Louis bonded over the song and worked quite heavily through 2016 and we have a few ideas that we're brewing in the process and it's very easy to get in the studio and come up with more ideas with him.

"He's a great guy to work with, there's no doubt that me and Louis will be putting out more music in the future. We dropped this on the world unexpectedly and it worked in our favour, so I think the next project that we do will be like that.

"We want to surprise people again."
