Swansea 2-0 Leicester: Champions one point off drop zone

From champions of England to chumps of England. 

No team in the top four divisions has won fewer points than Leicester in 2017. The Foxes have managed just the one point, level with Aston Villa, Coventry and Leyton Orient.

There was one piece of bad news for Paul Clement though. Winger Nathan Dyer trudged off with an Achilles injury after just five minutes, going down after landing awkwardly with no contact.

"The initial prognosis is it doesn't look good," says Clement.

Swansea boss Paul Clement: "We are in good form at the moment. Back-to-back home wins is very pleasing.

"We have worked hard on the training ground to get the basics right, nothing complicated. That has brought about confidence as they know what they are doing on the pitch.

"There's a massive amount to do. We are working on what we need to and that's what we must do every game.

"We don't have time to reflect on how well it has gone. We have got Chelsea coming up next."

"The machine is not broken but when you don't play at a maximum level it is a difficult battle. They were more determined than us, that's the truth.

"We stay together, we work very well in training but we need a little luck to move our confidence. I am very strong, very confident. I believe in everything.

Swansea manager Paul Clement on his impact since replacing Bob Bradley: "My job was to come in in January and put confidence back into the team, get them playing better and get them organised. I'm happy with the response from the players."

On both goals being scored by defenders: "We play our full-backs high, Martin Olsson was in an advanced position and it was a nicely worked goal. He had a bit to do, it was strong contact that beat the keeper at the near post. The second goal was a centre-back assist and the volley from Alfie Mawson was lovely technique. We've done well from set pieces."

Leigh Talbot: It's good to see the old Swansea style of play back, the only way is up the table and to safety

Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater speaking to Sky Sports: "Frustrating. It is hard to put it into words. We need to get out of this. If we keep on fighting hopefully it will turn. We need to keep on pushing ourselves and make sure we turn it around.

"We need to keep fighting for every ball. We are a bunch of honest lads. We work hard.

"We know everyone is disappointed, we are more than anyone. 

"It is another loss. It is not acceptable. We need to get things right quickly.

"We have not changed much. May we are not getting the rub of green or something. We believe in ourselves as long as we keep our heads I am sure it will come.

Asked if the team are behind Claudio Ranieri, Drinkwater said: "Of course we are. It is down to us on the pitch. The manager has our support."

I am not sure if Ranieri is the man now for Leicester.

"We have two problems," says Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri. "We concede and we don't score."

Swansea defender Alfie Mawson: "Any goal is a positive for myself and the club but I do like to score. I have got a habit at the moment of being in the right place at the right time.

"The manager told us we are going to work really hard and we have. He's turned it right around, we are so positive we feel we can take on anyone."

Paul Clement's impact could not have been predicted. Certainly not after that underwhelming spell at Derby.

Swansea have won four of their six Premier League games since Clement's appointment.

Before Clement? They won three out of 19 matches.
