Kaufman's 'humour and one-liners were brilliant'
Sir Gerald Kaufman, Labour MP for Manchester Gorton and Father of the House of Commons, has died aged 86. His family made the announcement late on Sunday, calling him "a great socialist and parliamentarian".
Tony Lloyd, a Labour party colleague of Mr Kaufman, and now Greater Manchester Police and Crime Commissioner says his favourite memory of Mr Kaufman is when he said to him, "Tony, never kick a man until he's down".
