    Nick Wilmshurst

    BBC Local Live, Yorkshire

This is a picture of an otter, you've probably seen one before but keep reading because this could be a very rare otter:

    Otter

The otter was spotted in the River Aire in Leeds city centre this afternoon.

Now I'm no wildlife expert, but I have a feeling this might be a very rare sighting. The man who sent it in, James Willson, says that he's not seen one in the Aire since 2006!

I've called Yorkshire Wildlife Trust to find out a bit more about their appearances in the city, I'll let you know what they say.
