  3. Coming up tomorrow

That's almost it from us tonight, but here's what's on the agenda tomorrow.

Number of golds: Four to be won - in women's shot put, women's 400m, heptathlon and decathlon

    Highlights

20:35 BST - women's shot put: Who can beat defending champion Lijiao Gong? The Chinese athlete threw a huge 20.31m in Zurich and in doing so became the only athlete to launch the 4kg metal ball more than 20m this year. Sophie McKinna won the British title to earn her spot in Doha and reached the final with a massive 18.61m PB.

21:50 BST - women's 400m: Olympic champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo would have gone for the 200m-400m double had the schedule allowed her to. Instead, she plumped for the 400m. The Bahamian set the fastest time of the year - 49.05 seconds - but Bahrain's Salwa Eid Naser has won five Diamond League races.

22:05 BST - heptathlon 800m: This is it for Katarina Johnson-Thompson. The 2018 Commonwealth gold medallist leads overnight ahead of Olympic and world champion Nafissatou Thiam. It could be a battle royale between the pair in this final event.

    Michael Johnson

It was an amazing race, I think that people get carried away with the potential she has, but as she said herself, you've got to deliver. And she delivered.

Dina executed this race exactly how she needed to do. She came off the bend with so much speed.

Dina was too much for everyone today. She was just ready.

  11. Miller appeal launched

    Men's Hammer final

Could we still have Miller time?

The British hammer thrower Nick Miller has launched an appeal after his second throw of the evening was given as a foul based on the below.

Was his foot out of the circle, or did any part of it land outside the circle? If so he's done for. If not I'm not quite sure what happens next as that throw landed up near the 80m mark so would've been good enough for a silver.

  12. Gold medal - Fajdek wins hammer

    Men's hammer final

    Pawel Fajdek

Absolutely zero movement at the very top of the hammer leaderboard sees Poland's Pawel Fajdek collect his fourth gold medal – the first man in history to achieve that feat in the event.

His compatriot and the man many tipped to be his main rival here, Wojciech Nowicki finishes fourth with a throw of 77.69.

That means the silver medal goes to France's Quentin Bigot who launched an effort out to 78.19m with his fourth attempt.

Hungarian Bence Halasz is a centimetre behind to take the bronze. Talk about fine margins.

  16. 'Holloway is made for this'

    Men's 110m hurdles final

    Michael Johnson

Four-time Olympic gold medallist athlete on BBC TV in Doha

Grant Holloway delivered and he executed that race to perfection as he has been doing all season long.

Ortega came into this with the second fastest time of he season, he was going to get a medal before he was affected by McLeod's mishap. That threw him off and he was out of the medals.

Holloway is made for the 110m hurdles.

  17. 'I gave it my all'

    Men's 110m hurdles final

    BBC Sport

    Omar McLeod

Omar McLeod speaking to BBC Sport: "I felt my hamstring from the first hurdle and I was trying to be tentative and muscle through.
