Relive how England ended their losing run by beating South Africa

Eddie Jones was full of praise for Jonny May, and it's the England try-scorer who is named man of the match.

"We will have a bit of a rest and be better when we face the Springboks in the autumn - they'll be better too. Hopefully we can keep getting better and start winning," he says.

Short and sweet from the England wing.

England head coach Eddie Jones: "It was a great reward for the players. Our effort has been outstanding, we have lacked a bit of emotional control (earlier in the series) and today we were able to control those moments.

"We stuck to a tactical plan today. We stuck at it and it's a great result for us.

"Some players have come through, others have fallen by the wayside. It's a great learning experience for the World Cup.

"It's never a dead-rubber. England have never won at Newlands before, so these boys will be remembered in history. We want to be the world's best team and we're back on the road again.

"Jonny May was outstanding. Young Tom Curry, he's probably played more Tests than Premiership games now, he's a really good player. Brilliant kick from Danny Cipriani, he saw the space and a great chase by Jonny."

Reaction from England head coach Eddie Jones in a second, who says his dog will still love him despite the series defeat in South Africa...

England captain Owen Farrell: "I am proud of the way the boys stuck at it. We have to stick at getting better, but that's definitely a start.

"Penalty count (was good), and I thought we stayed engaged throughout the game. There were far less errors in us today, even in these conditions.

"Every one of these boys were bang on it today.

"We weren't too far off before. We were in control of what we were doing and we'll have to take that forward."

Danny Cipriani, who set up that try for Jonny May with a superb kick, tells Sky: "I am a proud Englishman, it was amazing to be back out with the boys.

"We had to stick to our guns and make sure we came out with the W. I did everything in my power, but there were things I could have done better.

"It's time to enjoy five weeks off and make sure you don't get too fat."

On the try: "It was more instinct (the kick). There's one winger in the world who would score that and it's Jonny - he's absolutely rapid.

"When you've got a winger who is that hungry, it's all on him.

"Its about moving on to the bigger picture. We come out with something to be proud of."

Here's Ben Youngs, who apologised for cutting last week's interview short, on Sky Sports: "It's so disappointing when you don't put your best foot forward - I really felt we were capable of beating South Africa (in this series).

"Today we dealt with the emotion right, were on the right side of the penalty count. The boys trusted each other and stuck to process. You can't get bored of doing the simple things and we stuck to that.

"It was probably better without the ball. When the rains come in, you realise we back our defence and are better without it."

South Africa opened the door for England with the team selection and England marched through it. Joe Marler was the pick of the forwards.

When things are not going your way you need a bit of luck and I think the conditions have focused England and almost come at the right time. Super simple game plan well executed.

England win the final Test by 15 points, just their fourth victory in South Africa.

But more importantly, it brings to an end their five-match losing run.

Another turnover for England.

Maro Itoje, Joe Marler et al are fist-pumping and high-fiving more than they did when Jonny May crossed for that try a few moments ago.

Owen Farrell has been faultless off the floor. The surface is that wet he has just taken his time which means his ball striking has been exceptional.

England are almost in again. Henry Slade makes the intercept, but the ball slips from his grasp with the try-line beckoning.

And the South African discipline is wavering now.

Another penalty, another well-struck effort from right out on the touchline by Owen Farrell.

England take a 15-point lead with five minutes to go.

It is a brilliant kick from Danny Cipriani. He knew where the space was after another knock on. Cipriani gets the ball and he knows he wants to get it to Jonny May somehow. England get lucky and it invites Jonny May to turn on the afterburners. That is game over and England finally break the losing streak.

How on earth did Danny Cipriani manage to muster a kick under such pressure? A perfectly weighted left boot that just slithered over the South Africa try line.
