    Burton Albion could have  on-loan Burnley winger Michael Kightly  back for this weekend's game with Nottingham Forest.

    He's missed three of the past four games with a hamstring injury.

    Earlier on we told you about Derby suffragette Alice Wheeldon who was imprisoned for plotting to murder the Prime Minister 100 years ago.

    Well today her great-granddaughter (pictured far right) and campaigners held a vigil outside the Royal Courts of Justice, calling for her conviction to be overturned.

  5. Five arrested following suspected drugs seized in Heanor

    Five people have been arrested after Derbyshire police seized suspected class A drugs from a house in Heanor.

    Officers searched the house on Broadway last Friday. 

    A 47-year-old man from the Ilkeston area, three women aged 42, 32 and 28 and a 17-year-old boy, who are all from the Heanor area have been arrested on suspicion of drug offences.

  6. Council and Intu finalise deal on property swap

    It's taken two-and-half years to complete but two pieces of paper have secured the future of both the Becketwell area and the markets.

    The city council wanted the old Debenhams Store on Victoria Street - Intu Wanted the The Eagle Market - the decision has been ongoing since 2014.

    Now the redevelopment of Duckworth Square can go ahead and The Eagle Market can be run by the massive retail operation whose doorstep it sits on. 

    The deal's been made possible by £4m from the  local enterprise partnership D2N2.

  9. Watch: The wonder of the Ladybower Reservoir 'plughole'

    Did you know there’s a giant "plughole" just off the Snake Pass in Derbyshire?

    In the corner of Ladybower Reservoir, part of the Derwent Dam network, there’s a rather large hole that you probably haven’t seen if driving past.

    It helps to regulate the water levels at the reservoir to make sure they don’t get too high after heavy rain or snow.

  10. Appeal to find missing Derby man

    Derbyshire Police is appealing for information on the whereabouts of Lakhbir Kalirai, from Sunny Hill, who was reported missing at 10:00 yesterday.

    The 42-year-old has been described as 6ft 4ins tall, bald and of slim build, with several tattoos. 

    He drives a Vauxhall Corsa and has links to Leamington Spa.

  12. A38: Repair work complete

    Repair work to the barrier on the A38 is now complete and all lanes northbound between Alrewas and A50 are now open.

    The Highways Agency has thanked drivers for their patience.

  13. Thousands of fake goods with a retail value of £1m seized at airport

    Thousands of fake items have been seized during a crack down on counterfeit goods by Border Force officers at East Midlands Airport.

    Over 8,000 items were confiscated in three days which included make up, fake trainers, electrical items and designer handbags.

    Border Force officers said if genuine, the goods would have an estimated retail value of over £1m.

  15. Government fund will be used to redevelop Assembly Rooms

    Derby City Council has been given £6m of government money which will be used to secure the start of the redevelopment of Derby's Assembly Rooms.

    The money was included in a £63m pot awarded to the local enterprise partnership D2N2, to be spent across the region including nine projects in Derby and Derbyshire.  

  16. Occupational therapy offered through caring for animals

    A woman from Derbyshire who visits a farm has said that being around animals helps her with anxiety issues.

    Beckside Care Farm offers occupational therapy for people of all ages.

    Visitors to the farm have a chance to look after the alpacas, horses and chickens.

  17. A38: Reopen but one lane still closed

    One lane remains closed to enable repair work caused by last night's collision.
