The headliners for this year’s outdoor Somerset House Summer Series in Lodnon have been announced

 The 11-night run from 6-16 July will featuer shows from Norah Jones, Damian Marley, The Cinematic Orchestra, Goldfrapp (pictured above), Warpaint, The Robert Glasper Experiment, Birdy, Foster The People, Tom Misch, Mashrou’ Leila and Songhoy Blues.  

Previous artists who have payed the events include  Adele, Bastille, Mercury-winner Benjamin Clementine and Calvin Harris.

We had him down as more of a Cannibal Corpse fan but it turns out that Kanye is more keen on Suffolk's other greatest musical export:  Cradle of Filth .

(Either that or he's one of those people who wear band t-shirts because they look cool. We're looking at you MC5, Ramones and Iron Maiden wannbes...)

Anyway, the band have had their say on the matter, external and while they are indeed grateful to learn of his unforseen devotion, they are not altogether complimentary about him...

In one month it will be the first anniversary of Prince 's death; and Vulture have been speaking to the core members of his first, and best, band, The Revolution.

Guitarist Wendy Melvoin, keyboardists Lisa Coleman and Matt Fink, drummer Bobby Z, and bassist Brown Mark shared their memories, external of working with the Purple one - including a memorable anecdote about vomit.

The stories range from the funny to the sweet and are worth a read... ahead of the band's  US tour in April, external .

It was a short three-week record but Drake has beaten over Ed Sheeran for the coveted title of (deep breath) "artist with the most single-day streams of songs from an album on Spotify and Apple Music". 

On its release on 19 March, More Life generated 61.3 million global streams on Spoitify, beating Ed's record of 56.7 million streams  for his ÷ (Divide) allbum which notched up 56.7m streams on 3 March.

However, More Life also smashed Apple Music's record with 89.9m streams globally, compared with Ed's 61.3m global streams. 

What's interesting is that Spotify has an estimated 100m users (of which 40m are paid subscribers) while Apple has 20m paid users. So, why was everyone turning to Apple to hear the latest album? Perhaps Drake's show on the service's Beats 1 Radio Station had something to do with it...

Can't get the Super Mario theme out of your head? 

You're not alone... Koji Kondo's calypso earworm has endured for 32 years, over various incarnations, from it's chiptune beginnings to the lush, orchestrated versions in Super Mario Galaxy.

In fact, video games have become fertile ground for composers, especially on sweeping epics like Final Fantasy and the Zelda series.

Now Classic FM is devoting an entire show to video games. Called High Score (geddit?), it'll be presented by BAFTA Award-winning composer Jessica Curry.

In a video on the Classic FM site, external , Jessica chooses five of her favourite videogame scores - including Clint Mansell's work on Mass Effect 3 and Gustavo Santaolalla's mournful score in the post-apocalyptic thriller The Last Of Us.

A portrait of George Michael by artist Damien Hirst is to be auctioned off for an Aids charity.

Turner prize-winner Hirst depicted the star in household gloss on the canvas entitled Beautiful Beautiful George Michael Love Painting.

It is going under the hammer at a gala and art exhibition taking place in Dallas, Texas, on Friday. 

The Goss-Michael Foundation, which was founded by George and his former partner Kenny Goss, is a partner of the event alongside MTV's Staying Alive Foundation.

Despite being one of the biggest live acts in Europe, Take That have never managed to break the US: Back For Good remains their sole hit on the Billboard charts.

But, fresh from recording a Comic Relief edition of Carpool Karaoke with uber-fan James Corden, they've popped up on his US chat show to perform their new single, Giants.

Could America finally catch on to Britain's best-ever boy band? Watch this space.

Its a bromance for the ages and now Ed Sheeran and James Blunt are taking the musical love-in to the US.

Ed has confirmed that all is forgiven after James claimed the whole "a princess slashed my face with a sword " story was fabricated.

For those who are planning on attending any of the shows, just be thankful that James' set list has moved on in the past ten years...

Musician Wyclef Jean has criticised the Los Angeles Police Department saying they mistook him for a man who robbed a nearby petrol station.

The Haitian rapper and former Fugees member tweeted a video of himself standing next to a police car after being handcuffed.

He claims the LAPD put him in cuffs for "absolutely nothing".

He said he was in the studio when the petrol station robbery took place and was stopped by the police because he was a black man in a red bandana, which apparently matched the identity of the robber.

The Los Angeles Police Department have not made any comment.

Nigel Adams moves on to ask Stuart Camp and Stuart Galbraith about the sale and re-sale of tickets for their client Ed Sheeran.

Stuart Galbraith says it can be very hard for consumers to tell if they are buying from a primary or secondary ticket sellers.

He says primary ticket selling companies are making money running their own secondary ticket selling platforms.  

He agrees there is "collusion" between some primary and secondary sellers.

Mr Galbraith says he could see tickets for Ed Sheeran concerts bought via Ticketmaster being advertised for re-sale within hours of tickets going on sale. He says he's had no response from Ticketmaster to his complaints about their activities.

"Despite our requests, about those sites being used, we are ignored," says Mr Galbraith.

It's been seven long years since Swedish pop star  Robyn  released her ground-breaking (and apparently creatively exhausting) Body Talk trilogy.

Since then, she's dabbled with collaborations and a house spin-off project called  La Bagatelle Magique  - but the wait for new solo material could finally be over.

The singer premiered a new song in an episode of HBO's Girls on Sunday. Featuring a pounding dance beat and Robyn's distinctive, melancholy vocals, it was a callback to Girls' first season, where Hannah (Lena Dunham) and Marnie (Allison Williams) had  a cathartic bedroom dance session , external to the star's monumental hit Dancing On My Own.

A quick-fingered viewer Shazam'd the song, and discovered it was called Honey. A positive hit on Shazam suggests the song's been registered and primed for release (perhaps on a soundtrack album?)

The hearing into secondary is still going on in parliament and the boss of See Tickets has admitted current legislation on ticket resales isn't working.

"We wouldn't be here if it was," he said.

The select committee chairman Damian Collins asked if the processes used for Glastonbury tickets - which are sold on See Tickets - could be applied to other, smaller events.  

Rob Wilmhurt said information such as matching credit card numbers and unique reference numbers does help, but added that he doubts ticket buyers would want to divulge large amounts of personal information against their ticket purchases.

Applying those kinds of conditions to sale would "act as a barrier to sales" for other events where fans would be put off by demands to pre-register.

"A lot of ticketing is impulsive," says Mr Wilmshurst, people want to decide only a few days in advance if they want to go to a gig.

When Ed Sheeran's Shape Of You debuted in January, a few people noticed a similarity to TLC's late-90s hit No Scrubs.

Indeed, Samantha Carpenter from TV show Girl Meets World even performed a mash-up of the two hits to illustrate how well the fit each other.

Well, the debt was no accident. Ed Sheeran has listed No Scrubs' writers - Kevin Briggs, Kandi Burruss and Tameka Cottle (aka Tiny Harris) - to the credits of his song, meaning they'll get a share of the not insubstantial royalties.

Kandi, who now stars in The Real Housewives Of Atlanta, confirmed the news on her Instagram account.

Speaking on US radio, she thanked Ed for allowing her to "share the success".

"X in the box, 'cos ain't nobody checkin' me."

Nicki Minaj , there, humble as ever... 

But the Harajuku Barbie has good reason to brag this morning: She's just overtaken Aretha Franklin as the woman with the most appearances on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.

Franklin had held record for nearly 40 years - starting in June 1977, when Break It to Me Gently becamer 54th hit single, putting her ahead of the prior record-holder, Connie Francis.

But Billboard reports, external that, with three new entries in this week's chart, Miss Minaj has notched up 76 Hot 100 entries in her career. What's more, she's achieved that in just eight years.

Of course, this is partly thanks to the incestuous nature of hip-hop. Nicki is a featured artist on 44 of those singles, thanks to her cameos with Ariana Grande, Lil Wayne and Kanye West, amongst others.

Streaming also has a part to play. Franklin would never have had three individual tracks from an EP enter the chart as separate songs. 

None of which is meant to rain on Nicki's parade. How many of you have recorded 72 songs in the last seven years, never mind 72 hit singles? Does she ever sleep?

The committee session opens with the unusual situation of an 'empty chair' alongside first witness Rob Wilmshurst of See Tickets - a primary ticket agency for major events and venues.

Committee chair Damian Collins says it is a "considerable disappointment" that Viagogo have been unable to provide a witness for the session.

Viagogo are one secondary ticketing agency who have been accused of reselling concert tickets at vastly increased prices compared to the original face value.

Viagogo were heavily criticised  for reselling tickets to a charity concert by singer Ed Sheeran for up to £5,000.  

"The only people who should profit from Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall are young people with cancer," said the charity.

Ed Sheeran 's manager Stuart Camp is expected to give evidence in front of MPs today, investigating the issue of secondary ticketing. 

Ed, and other artists such as Mumford & Sons, You Me at Six and Radiohead have been vocal in their criticism of tickets being sold on secondary sites such as Viagogo and Stubhub for greatly inflated prices.

Last month, tickets for Ed's Teenage Cancer Trust gigs were being advertised at five times the face value.

"First time your name was used, it was beauty, and I knew."

The opening lyric of James Blake 's My Willing Heart gains added resonance in his new video - which stars a late-pregnancy Natalie Portman floating in water, and touching her belly, which undulates with kicks from her unborn daughter.

The stunning black-and-white clip was directed by Anna Rose Holmer, reportedly a few days before Portman gave birth to her second child, Amalia. 

My Willing Heart was co-written by Frank Ocean, and features on James's third album The Colour In Anything.

After the outpouring of social media tributes to Rock and Roll Hall Of Famer Chuck Berry, who died at the weekend, a slew of musical tributes was inevitable.

So here are some fan-shot videos of some of the biggest names in the biz having a crack at Chuck's groundbreaking riff on his 1958 track Johnny B Goode.

Nine points to Sting for going down the acoustic path, one point deducted for not using a lute.

A couple of months ago, Laura Mvula tweeted that she'd been dropped by her record label, Sony / RCA, who had decided not to give her a third album - despite her first two being nominated for a Mercury Prize.

But what she didn't tell anyone - until now - was that she received the shocking news in a forwarded email, just seven lines long.

"I didn't see anyone, I didn't hear anybody's voice. I just read words. It felt so cold and cruel," she told BBC Radio 4's Rebecca Jones.

"First I was confused, I didn't understand. I was always told I was such a valued part of what Sony had become today. I was an artist who was taking risks and doing things that are fresh and genuinely new. I believed them.

"I guess in my head I always thought there would be a conversation, a renegotiation, but never a kinda, 'it's over'.

"To be treated like that doesn't feel quite just."
