  2. Celeb spotting in East Yorkshire

    We've spotted a few celeb spotters in Beverley this afternoon.

    Film crews have been at the Minster all week for a new BBC Drama called Gunpowder and today ITV crews moved in to start filming the second series of Victoria.

  3. Weather: Turning cloudier with outbreaks of rain

    It'll turn cloudier as we head towards the end of the day ahead of a band of rain which reaches us later.

    Outbreaks of rain and milder temperatures will continue spreading east overnight.

    Video footage recorded by Humberside Police's helicopter reveals the moment a "violent" attacker hurled tiles from a rooftop in a stand-off with officers.

    Clint Clay, 24, of Frodingham Road, Scunthorpe, assaulted Jason Potts with a machete and a hammer before taking to the roof of a house on Alexandra Road in Scunthorpe on 6 July last year.

    He denied assault and three other charges but admitted affray, and was sentenced to 13 years at Grimsby Crown Court on Monday.

  6. Labour party 'could lose traditional northern strongholds'

    There's a warning tonight that Labour could struggle to hold-on to its traditional strongholds in Northern Cities.

    It follows the party's defeat in the Copeland by-election to the Conservatives. 

    Pollsters say there's evidence that voters in cities like Hull are becoming increasingly disillusioned with Labour under Jeremy Corbyn's leadership - a charge denied by Mr Corbyn's supporters.

    This is nine-year-old Jake Harland from Beverley. 

    As you can see he loves playing roller hockey!

    He's good too! Jake is one of the youngest ever to be called to international duty.

    This summer Jake will be playing inline hockey for Great Britain against the best in the world in California in the AAU Junior Olympics .

  10. Playing the bridge

    Scale Lane Bridge is being transformed into a giant musical instrument! 

    Drawing on the Indonesian gamelan tradition that creates music by striking tuned metalwork, composer Nye Parry will lead sessions at the bridge this weekend.

    Participants will also be able to create sound using the Hull landmark itself.

    The workshops will culminate in a performance on 26 March, in and on the bridge, featuring material created in the workshops as well as traditional and contemporary gamelan music.

  12. Monkeying around in North Lincolnshire

    A high ropes obstacle course with zip wires and rope swings  could come to North Lincolnshire next year.

    The council has been in talks with Go Ape about bringing it's tree top adventure to Normanby Hall Country Park.

    The idea is subject to further discussion and planning but would create around 30 jobs if approved.

  16. Contractors work extra hours to speed up Bridlington road works

    Engineers working on Bridge Street in Bridlington have been working longer hours this week to try to get roadworks finished sooner.

    The street is being redesigned as part of Bridlington's multi-million pound regeneration programme - but it's been delayed after problems were found with Victorian drains.

    Traders say it's badly affected their takings.

  17. Council tax rise in North East Lincs

    Council tax bills in North East Lincolnshire are to go up by 4.98%. 

    At last night's meeting of the full council members approved the rise following  funding cuts from central government.

    The increase includes a 1.9% Council Tax rise and a further 3% increase to the Adult Social Care precept as a contribution to the rising costs of adult social care.
