  3. Water supplies back on in DE22

    Good news - repairs in the DE22 area are complete and everything is back to normal.  

    Severn Trent said emergency repairs had to be carried out which affected some water supplies.

  4. Goose 'shot' with arrow in park

    The RSPCA is concerned that someone is shooting geese with arrows in a Derbyshire park after a bird had to be put down.

    A member of the public contacted the charity on Saturday after they spotted a goose with an arrow in its body, at Poolsbrook Park, in Staveley.

    The goose suffered a bad wing injury and had to be put to sleep by a vet, the RSPCA said.

    The animal charity said it had been notified of a second incident but the goose was unharmed. They are urging anyone with information to contact them.

  5. Man arrested at East Midlands Airport after drug operation

    Police have said a man's been arrested after being found in possession of a controlled substance at East Midlands Airport.

    Specialist search dogs were used during an operation at the airport today and a number of people admitted to having consumed/smoked drugs before arriving at the airport.

    The matter has now been passed onto the UK customs authorities.   

  6. Police seeking driver after robbery near Tesco

    Derbyshire police are looking for people who may have seen a woman running away from a robber near Tesco in Heanor.

    A man threatened the woman with a jagged metal can at about 23:00 on 4 February.

    The 28-year-old woman ran off into the Tesco car park and banged on a car window asking for help, before being helped by staff inside the store.

    Police now want to speak to the driver of the car as they may have information which could help officers.

  8. Chester Green road closure affecting shop owner

    Earlier on I caught up with shop owners near Mansfield Road to see if their businesses had been affected since the burst water main.

    Ray Garlick who owns a trade shop said his business has suffered since the road closures in the area.

    "It's awful. I can't tell my staff to go home and say I can't pay you this week because we've got no business.

    "It's going to cause a massive effect and we'll probably make quite a considerable loss this month."

    A broken down vehicle on the M1 northbound is causing congestion between junction 24 and 23A near East Midlands Airport.

    One of the four lanes is currently closed.

  14. Adam Peaty: Defending Olympic title 'main motivation'

    Adam Peaty says the chance to become the first British swimmer to defend an Olympic title is driving him towards Tokyo 2020.

    The reigning Commonwealth and European champion destroyed the field by more than a second and a half in winning 100m breaststroke gold at Rio 2016.

    "I think I can defend my titles, but defending my Olympic title is my main motivation," Peaty, 22, told BBC.  

  15. Volunteers wanted to help secure Heage Windmill's future

    Heage Windmill is set to reopen for the year on 1 April.

    Members of the windmill are calling for volunteers to help secure its long-term future.

    Brian Naylor wants people to go along and learn to be a tour guide or even a miller.

    Mr Naylor says without a new influx of volunteers, the hard work of restoring the windmill could be lost in the next 20 years.

  16. Water disruption in the DE22 area

    Severn Trent has said customers in the DE22 area of Derby may experience a disruption to their water supply for a short while as they carry out a repair on one of the water mains in the area.  

    The company said it is certain it is not related to the burst water main in Chester Green.

  18. Burst water main: Hole covered and work continues

    Reinstatement work has started in Chester Green and Severn Trent said it will take a few days for the tarmac to cure.
