  3. Businesses around burned-down mill ask for help

    Businesses affected by a major fire in Bradford last year have handed in a petition to the council asking for more support.

    The Lumb Lane Business Group says the area is in need of regeneration.

    They also say that shops are struggling and have handed in a petition to the council asking for more help.

  4. Sheffield MP calls for action over child grooming law

    A Sheffield MP has called on the government to enable a law to tackle child grooming to be enforced.

    Louise Haigh, who represents Sheffield Heeley, said there has been a two year wait for the law to be enacted.

    Justice Secretary Liz Truss responded saying "This is imminent".

  5. Rhea in Wakefield: Stray bird returned to owner

    Earlier I was telling you about the stray rhea that was spotted in Wakefield:

    The good news is that its been returned to its owner after the RSPCA came out to rescue it.

    Although one of the RSPCA officers who went out to deal with it said that they'd never had to deal with this type of bird before.

  7. Appeal to find relatives of Wakefield man who died alone

    The coroner is appealing for help to find the relatives of a Wakefield man who died alone.

    Stephen Allen from the Regent Street area died at Pinderfields Hospital of natural causes last month.

    Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bereavement Centre at the hospital on 01924 541016.

  8. Bradford schoolgirl wins parking banner compeition

    A schoolgirl from Bradford has won a competition to design a new parking banner.

    Nimra Hussain from Grove House Primary School's poster was voted the best by the people of the city.

    The winning design will now feature outside 29 primary schools across Bradford.

  10. Police appeal for help in Sheffield fatal shooting case

    Detectives investigating the death of a Sheffield man have thanked the public for their help during the investigation.

    Aseel Al-Essaie was shot and killed on Daniel Hill in the city last month.

    Police are continuing to ask anyone with information to contact them on 101.

    Four men, two women and two teenage boys are currently on bail after being arrested after Aseel Al-Essaie's death.

  12. Rhea on run spotted in Wakefield

    It's a Rhea that's been spotted on a day out in a car park in the city this afternoon.

    Chris (that's a name I've given him/her.. geddit?) was rather unceremoniously rescued by the RSPCA who came out to make sure he/she was kept safe.

    Babe is appearing in a show based on the 1995 film of the same name, based on the story of the pig that thinks it's a sheepdog.

    It's on at Chesterfield's Pomegranate Theatre until Saturday.

  14. BBC Look North weatherman changes strip for a good cause

    It was a slightly bitter pill for BBC Look North weatherman (and Bradford City fan) Paul Hudson to swallow, but it was all in the name of charity.

    Paul donned the Terriers' shirt to raise money for the Jo Cox Foundation at an event last night, after he was offered £1,000 to do it by Dean Hoyle, Town's chairman.

    The presenter tweeted "Well how could I not do! £1,000 for a brilliant charity and in memory of a remarkable lady Jo Cox"

  15. Sheffield takeaway closed due to anti-social behaviour

    A Sheffield takeaway was closed over the weekend due to anti-social behaviour.

    Police were given a temporary closure notice for the S1 Food Bar in Fitzalan Square on Saturday.

    Authorities are applying for permission to close the takeaway for an initial three months and possibly for longer.

    Sheffield Magistrates Court will decide on the application later this month.
