Kirkby Lonsdale top all English clubs with 91-0 stride into National League
BBC Radio Cumbria Sport
Kirkby Lonsdale's rugby union club has been promoted into National League Three North in style, beating Eccles 91-0 at the weekend.
The club's director of rugby Matt Hughes says it is "unheard of" for a town as small as Kirkby Lonsdale to have a team in national level rugby union.
Kirkby have won 22 out of 22 games so far this season, and all bar one with a bonus point, a record unmatched by any English club in any league.
The union says plans to buy trains which can be used for driver-only operations are potentaiully unsafe. The company says it intends to retain staff on trains, but give them more time to look after passengers.

Northern has still had to replace more than half its services with rail replacement buses like those pictured at Carlisle, and Paul Barnfield, the regional director, said people should plan their journey home.
He said: "Services on many routes will start to wind down from mid-afternoon onwards, with very few trains running after 17:00 this evening."

After a number of incdients where Mr Wentworth Waites confronted people, police revoked his licence.
Mr Waites took his case to Carlisle Crown Court, arguing the gun was important to him for lambing and calving to ward off predators and that he enjoyed shooting.
Upholding his appeal, Judge Hughes said Mr Waites was "short-tempered and easily provoked", but on no occasion had a shotgun been involved.
