  5. Doncaster woman sells home to complete bucket list

    Sue O'Grady from Sprotbrough near Doncaster has sold her house to travel the world on her motorbike.

    She'll be 70 this year and she's certainly enjoying ticking things off her bucket list:

  6. Cats die in 'antifreeze' poisoning in Leeds

    Pet owners in a part of Leeds have been warned to be vigilant after two cats died from licking antifreeze.

    Officers from the Local Neighbourhood Policing Team were called to the Queenshill Estate in Moortown when the pets became very ill and had to be taken to the vets who put them to sleep.

    The two separate reports from different cat owners happened on the same day, but it isn't known how the pets came to consume the antifreeze. 

    Police say that a wider concern is that a child could also pick it up.  

  7. Ken Livingstone: Behaviour 'unacceptable' and 'deeply damaging' says Leeds MP

    A West Yorkshire MP has called Ken Livingstone's comments about Hitler and Zionism "unacceptable" and "deeply damaging".

    Hilary Benn who is the MP for Leeds Central commented after the Labour party leader Jeremy Corbyn said the former London mayor faces a new investigation into what he said.

    Mr Livingstone has been suspended from the party since April 2016 when he claimed Hitler had supported Zionism in the 1930s.

    Some Labour MPs and Jewish groups have criticised the decision not to expel Mr Livingstone, who was defending Bradford MP Naz Shah over claims she had made anti-Semitic social media posts.

  8. Man dies after crash near Pool-in-Wharfedale

    A man in his 70s has died after a crash that involved five cars close to Pool-in-Wharfedale this morning.

    The accident happened at about 08:30 BST on the B6161 a woman also suffered chest and back injuries in the collision.

    Several road closures were in place at the time and North Yorkshire Police are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward. 

  9. Listen: 'Mental side of football is dangerous': Mills on York City defeat

    York City manager Gary Mills admitted pressure may have got to his players last night, in their 2-0 defeat by Bromley.

    It meant they missed the chance to get out of the National League relegation zone.

  10. Concern grows for missing Sheffield woman

    The family of missing 51-year-old Halema Smedley are concerned for her welfare as she's not been seen for nearly 24 hours.

    She was last seen at around 23:30 BST on Tuesday on Kilvington Road in Sheffield and is thought to be wearing black leggings, white trainers and black bomber jacket.

    She's not been seen or contactable since her disappearance and South Yorkshire Police are appealing for help in finding her.

    Any information can be passed on to them by calling 101.

  11. University of Huddersfield in top 200 in the world

    If you're reading this at the University of Huddersfield, congratulations, you're in one of the top 200 universities in the world.

    It's among 27 UK universities which have made it into a league table of 200 universities under 50-years-old - compiled by the The Times Higher Education supplement. 

    The best overall is in Switzerland - and the top university in Britain is Dundee at number 16.
