  4. Fine for tenant who left belongings on the street

    The tenant of this house in Leeds has been slapped with a fine for leaving this mess on the street.

    The person who was living in the house was moving out, but rather than shell out for a removal van, they just put all of their stuff in the street.

    Now they've been issued with a £300 fine for leaving this mess in Harehills.

    Well, in York it's like that...but with geese.

  6. Ennis-Hill's tribute to Germaine Mason

    Sheffield's Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill has paid her tribute to fellow athlete Germaine Mason who's died.

    The former high jumper, aged 34, was killed in a motorcycle crash in Jamaica.

    Mason won a silver medal in his sport at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

  7. Dog rescued from drain pipe in Barnsley

    Good news from Barnsley as South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue have safely rescued Jet the dog who was trapped in a drain pipe in the town.

    They were aided by the RPSCA, Yorkshire Water and a construction company and used a remote camera to find Jet.

    And after a bit of digging and coaxing Jet will live to chew on a bone for another day!

  8. Listen: 'It's about talking to the public about what they want'

    The chief constable of South Yorkshire Police will be in Hexthorpe in Doncaster later outlining his plans for changes to community policing.

    He first announced the idea during a debate last October jointly hosted by BBC Radio Sheffield and The Star newspaper.

  9. Brilliant birds need nimble knitters

    Nimble knitters are being invited to knock their needles together in York to populate trees with woollen birds.

    It's hoped their efforts will result in a spectacular display in Rowntree Park and raise money for St Leonard’s Hospice.

    A giant ‘Brilliant Birds’ Yarnstorm installation is planned for the park in the summer, for the Rowntree Park Birthday Party.

  10. Man assaulted and robbed of tools in Sheffield

    A workman has been assaulted and robbed in Sheffield.

    It happened on Tuesday morning in the Woodhouse Mill area of Sheffield.

    A group of men were trying to break into the 27-year-old man's van, which was parked on Hudson Road.

    The men then assaulted him and took his keys before leaving with his tools in a getaway car. 

  11. Missing teen in Halifax found

    Earlier we told you about missing teenager Ester Taruvinga from Halifax, who'd not been seen in a week. 

    Some good news this afternoon, she's been found safe and well.

  12. Just a few decorations to put up before the Tour

    There's still more than a week to go until the Tour de Yorkshire, but some people are getting into the spirit nice and early.

    They're asking people to get involved in their Best Dressed competition.

  13. Ed Balls will not stand in Morley

    The former Morley and Outwood MP Ed Balls has confirmed that he will not be standing for his old seat in the general election.

    The politician-turned-reality TV star was ousted from his seat by the Conservative Andrea Jenkyns by a small majority in the 2015 election.

    It's interesting that he has ruled out Morley and Outwood, could he be standing elsewhere?

  14. Wakefield crash leaves elderly man with injuries

    A quick update on the earlier crash in Wakefield.

    An elderly man has been rescued after a crash in Midgley and the road is still closed.

    It happened at about 14:00 on Bar Lane and the elderly man has been taken to hospital with minor injuries.

    Two cars and a van were involved in the crash at the junction of the A637 Bar Lane and Stocksmoor road.
