Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel: I think Mercedes looked stronger earlier today but we were just lucky to recover after our issue. Overall I think we did okay but we can do better.
We had some sort of glitch - all of a sudden everything went dark. Thankfully there was no lasting damage and we can fix it. Nowadays cars are not just cars - it's technology and software so it seems like something went wrong there.

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is speaking to Sky Sports about the incident regarding Verstappen running over Valtteri Bottas' t-wing, causing them to have to change the floor of his car:
"Ban them. Get rid of them. People think it's just sour grapes because we aren't running one but actually they are dangerous and they need looking at".

So after that session, the general consensus is that tomorrow's qualifying and Sunday's race are going to be bloomin' exciting...

There will be concerns over Ferrari's reliability. The encouraging news for them is that on those couple of laps in FP2 Kimi Raikkonen was able to better Lewis Hamilton's times. Raikkonen also has a good record here.

Wolff dismisses Hamilton position concerns
Mercedes chief Toto Wolff on BBC Radio 5 live being asked about the competitive practice times and Lewis Hamilton being fifth quickest:
"[On a tight top three] That's how it should be. [Regarding Hamilton] It's Friday. Tomorrow the lap time counts. On Sunday we'll score the points. Lewis has some traffic and aborted the first two attempts."

Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton are on the same tyres but Hamilton is significantly quicker. Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo is within a tenth of second of Hamilton.
His team-mate Max Verstappen is quicker than anybody on super softs.

I think we can assume the incident in question was the moment Hamilton went on team radio to say "These drivers are just so dangerous, man..."

Daniel Ricciardo has been plugging away and has recorded a respectable 23 laps...
The latest on yellow walled softs so is not expected to light up the leaderboard.

Just seen a TV replay... It appears that Max Verstappen's Red Bull was damaged by the abandoned T-wing of Valtteri Bottas...
But appearances aren't everything.
