People are being warned over a recent series of scam emails claiming to be from West Yorkshire Police.

    Email scammer

They are a series of what are known as phishing emails which try to make you believe that the force is contacting you with a speeding ticket or an invoice.

The email asks you to click on a link for more information or to pay a fine, which in reality downloads a trojan virus onto your hard drive.

West Yorkshire Police say they "would never correspond via email" for personal information.

The advice is not to click on any of the links.

The Alhambra Theatre has confirmed the musical, planned to hit the stage in July, won't be going ahead and that sales had been "low".

But they did add that they didn't have a real chance to promote the production.

  9. Next station stop: A sit down

You might not be able to get a seat on the train every morning, but at least now you can rest your weary feet before you hop on board.

Brand new seating has been installed for customers on the platforms at six railways stations across the north, including Dewsbury and Malton.

TransPennine Express, who manage the stations, have spent more than £75,000 on 45 benches replacing the old seating at Dewsbury and Malton, as well as Brough in East Yorkshire, Scunthorpe, Stalybridge and Thornaby.

They say the new benches form part of their plan to "further enhance the customer experience whether waiting for train or travelling on one".

    Sounds good to us.

So much so in fact, here's another look at them from another angle:

Yorkshire County Cricket Club had warned - without the redevelopment, it would lose the chance to host international matches.

It led to this comment from a councillor in which he said he didn't want Leeds to end up like another West Yorkshire city:
