People in North Lincolnshire are being offered £5,000 if they can come up with ways to stop loan sharks from operating.

It comes after officers raided two homes in the area.
The scheme is being headed up by the England Illegal Money Lending Team, who told me this morning that borrowing from loan sharks can easily get out of control.
They want people with ideas of how to raise awareness of the danger of loan sharks or how to stop them from operating to get in touch.
Firefighters join the Save a Life campaign

Fire crews in Louth have joined BBC Radio Lincolnshire's Save a Life campaign and have pledged to host CPR training later this month.
Taking
place at the station on Eastfield Road between 10.00 and 16.00 on Saturday, May 27, crews will be
giving CPR demonstrations and showing residents how to use a defibrillator.

It's all part of the scheme to get 10,000 people trained in lifesaving skills, which the radio station is running in partnership with St John Ambulance and Lives First Responders.
Refurbished beach chalets hit by vandals

Beach huts which were revamped at a cost of £200,000 have been vandalised causing anger in a coastal community.
East Lindsey District Council spent the cash on the chalets on Mablethorpe seafront earlier this year as part of a deal with the resort's town council.

The town council had agreed to take on the ownership and upkeep of the huts after the refurbishment.
But now more money will be needed after some of the huts were hit by vandals at least twice in the last few weeks.
Medieval Lincoln to be recreated in virtual reality
Work's begun on creating a 3D virtual model of Lincoln's lost medieval buildings.
When finished it will allow people to see what the Cathedral quarter looked like centuries ago.

The Old Deanery and Works Chantry, which
hundreds of years ago used to stand where the existing Deanery building (above) is
today to the north of the Cathedral, will be recreated by using 18th
and 19th century drawings.
From June the images will be available through Google Maps online.

Churches in village between Lincoln and Grantham are counting the cost of a series of thefts from collection boxes.
Small amounts of cash have been taken from money boxes at St. Vincent’s in Caythorpe (below), St Peter’s in Claypole, St. Mary’s in Marston and St. Swithun’s in Long Bennington.

A police spokesman said: "We believe that offenders have also targeted St Nicholas in Normanton and St Nicholas in in Fulbeck. These incidents are believed to be linked.
"Anyone who has seen suspicious activity or has information should call 101. Local communities are encouraged to remain vigilant."

It's been announced by the Canal and River Trust that hundreds of miles of waterways are available for "adoption" by local communities.

In Lincoln, the Fossdyke Canal has been adopted on it's city centre stretch (above) by the Lincoln Sea Cadets but there's still miles of water left to take on.

Teen killers to appeal against sentence

Two teenagers who killed a mother and daughter in Spalding are due to appeal against the length of their sentence.
The pair were jailed for life with a minimum of 20 years last November for the murder of school dinner lady Elizabeth Edwards and her 13 year old daughter Katie at their home in April last year.
They were smothered and stabbed.
The appeal is due to be heard at the Court of Appeal in London tomorrow.

Appeal to help find teenager missing for nearly two weeks
Police say they're concerned for the welfare of 18-year-old Chantelle Whitehead, who has been missing from her home in Lincoln since 20 April.
Chantelle is 5ft 5ins tall, of slight build, with short dark hair which is curly on top. She has a strong Yorkshire accent.

School joins Save a Life campaign

An entire Lincolnshire school has learned CPR skills in one day as part of a BBC campaign.
Cordeaux Academy in Louth took up the training as part of BBC Radio Lincolnshire's Save a Life Campaign.
The campaign aims to get 10,000 people to learn how to help someone suffering a cardiac arrest.
With more than 500 staff and students taking part at the school, it's now reached more than 1,500 people in one month.
