Episode 4

Jools is joined by Blondie, Future Islands, Mabel, Orchestra Baobab, London Grammar and Binker & Moses.

Joining Jools on the fourth show of the current series are New York legends Blondie, led by their iconic frontwoman Debbie Harry, along with co-writer Chris Stein and drummer Clem Burke. They perform a couple of tracks from their new studio album Pollinator, featuring songs written by the likes of Johnny Marr, Sia and Charli XCX. They also perform a classic or two from their 40-year catalogue of classic hits.

From Baltimore, Maryland, the return of Future Islands, who came to prominence late into their recording careers following TV performances showing off their punchy tunes and interesting dance moves from frontman Samuel T Herring. They debut a song or two from their recently released fifth album The Far Field.

Making her TV debut is Londoner Mabel, who arrives on the scene with excellent musical heritage and a sassy collection of songs full of pop hooks and with a nod to 90s-facing RnB production. Also in the studio are Senegal's Orchestra Baobab, who are making a return a decade on from their last album and almost half a century since their formation. They perform a couple of numbers from their recent LP Tribute to Ndiouga Dieng, which continues their style of timeless and classic swaying tunes fusing Afro-Cuban rhythms and African tradition in the group's trademark style.

From London, trio Hannah Reid, Dan Rothman and Dominic 'Dot' Major, aka London Grammar, who had huge success with their debut album back in 2013. They return with new songs that retain their soaring, cinematic yet often melancholic sound from their upcoming second album Truth Is A Beautiful Thing.

London saxophone/drum duo Binker & Moses, who have been making waves for their fiery improvisations and fresh ideas in the contemporary world of jazz, earning them Best New Act gongs at both the MOBO and Jazz FM awards. They perform a track from their upcoming second album Journey to the Mountain of Forever.
