General election: Labour backs Trident renewal, Nia Griffith says

Labour backs the renewal of the Trident nuclear deterrent despite leader Jeremy Corbyn saying he would never use it, Llanelli MP Nia Griffith has insisted.

The shadow defence secretary told the BBC's Daily Politics programme it remained Labour party policy and would be included in its manifesto for June's general election.

Ms Griffith said that although Mr Corbyn had "his own personal view on a number of issues", Labour had been committed to renewing Trident for a "very long time".
