  5. One arrested after Nuneaton robbery

    A man's been arrested after an armed robbery in a Nuneaton bank, police say.

    They say they were called to the scene, believed to be a branch of Nat West, shortly after midday when a man threatened staff and demanded money.

    A quantity of cash was handed over.

    The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust said a "fresh and diverse" offering helped make this year's birthday celebrations a huge success.  

    Thousands turned out in Stratford-upon-Avon to celebrate Shakespeare's 453rd birthday last Saturday.

  7. BMW workers target 'posh' showroom

    BMW workers are set to stage a protest outside the German car-maker's showroom on London's Park Lane on Saturday as part of a dispute over pensions.

    Members of the Unite union will take part in the demonstration ahead of a further six days of industrial action at BMW plants around the country, including Hams Hall in Warwickshire.

    BMW angered workers when it announced plans to close its final salary pension scheme.

    Unite national officer Fred Hanna said "the protest outside the car maker's posh Park Lane showroom" would highlight a need to talk about "affordable options to keep the scheme open". 

  8. Fishery closed after outbreak of disease

    An outbreak of Spring Viraemia of Carp (SVC) disease has been confirmed at Arden Lakes, Stratford-Upon-Avon.

    The Centre for Environment Fisheries and Aquaculture Science said that the fishery on Ingon Lane in Snitterfield is now subject to statutory controls to prevent or limit the spread of the disease.

    That means the movement of fish to, from and within the site is not allowed.
