'A world free of the restraints of post-war Britain'
The creator of some of The Beano's most memorable characters, Leo Baxendale, has died at the age of 86.
Baxendale's creations for the comic included Minnie the Minx and the Bash Street Kids. He first started drawing the characters in the 1950s.
Stand-up comedian and co-founder of Viz magazine, Simon Donald, tells PM why Leo Baxendale was such an inspiration to so many. He says Baxendale created "a world free of the dreadful restraints of post-war Britain."
