The government is stumping up almost £1m to help develop a piece of technology in the South West that aims to cut air pollution and reward better driving.
Developed in Exeter, Lightfoot is a gadget which sits on the dashboard and tells the driver when they're going too fast or revving too much.
Rewards for better driving could include deals on car insurance, breakdown cover, car finance or other incentives with partner organsiations, the Lightfoot compay said.
It added that it hoped that going halves with the government on the investment would help create jobs as well as better drivers.
