A cat who went missing in 2014 has returned to his home in West Yorkshire almost two-and-a-half-years after his departure.

    Little Bit

Little Bit, a 12-year-old tabby, has trotted back to his home in Denby Dale, leaving his owner, Steph Mellor-Smith, stunned when she saw him sitting on the window ledge.

She took him to the vet and he was treated him for ulcer-like wounds.

Little Bit has had a bit of an interesting life...

He had a hip operation after he was kicked by someone in the street, and he was "cat-napped" from his previous home before being returned three months later.

He hasn't done that and Leeds are still in the Championship. So it's now up to Mr Radrizzani to take that forward.

  12. West Yorkshire force seeks option of military support in attack aftermath

West Yorkshire Police has officially asked for military support should it be required in the aftermath of Monday's suicide attack in Manchester which killed 22 people.

    Armed police officer and soldier

In a statement on the force's website, Assistant Chief Constable Angela Williams says while there is "no specific information" about a threat in West Yorkshire, the request has been made along with similar ones from other forces.

People should not, however, expect to see soldiers patrolling their communities at the moment, she adds.

"The raising of the threat means that we can, if required, call on military assistance to help us keep the communities of West Yorkshire safe," she says.

This comes as the UK terror threat level is now up to its highest level of "critical", meaning more attacks may be imminent.
