The mother of a three-year-old boy who drowned while on holiday in Australia was concerned about her son's behaviour, an inquest has heard.
Kyle Reece Dennett, from Bere Alston in Devon, was found floating face down in the swimming pool of a house in Joondalup, Western Australia on 29th March last year.
The toddler had delayed speech and language development, and was undergoing assessment for possibly being on the autistic spectrum, prior to the holiday.
Evidence from Dr Sharon Glass, a Consultant Community Paediatrician with Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust, said his behaviour had been causing his mother concerns, and he was described as having "no fear".
Coroner Andrew Cox recorded a verdict of accidental death.
The way crimes are recorded could explain Devon and Cornwall's rise in crime figures, the police force says.
New statistics show reported crime in Devon and Cornwall has risen by more than 10%.
But Dep Ch Con James Vaughan says that doesn't mean the area is any less safe.
"Things that used to be investigated and managed by the police, such as malicious communications, have more recently become crimes," he said.
"So we've seen a huge spike in new crimes that never used to be recorded, and that's added to the picture."

Plymouth Albion centre Dean Squire has signed a new contract which will keep him at Brickfields until the end of next season.
The 21-year-old joined the National One side from Brixham last summer and has helped Albion secure second place in the league.
“Hopefully I can become more of a key member of the team and hopefully we are fighting for promotion next year," Squire said. "I really want to be part of what’s going on here at the club."

The Royal Marine jailed for killing a wounded Taliban fighter is to be freed on Friday, campaigners have said.
Sgt Alexander Blackman, also known as Marine A, got a life sentence in 2013 for murder, but his conviction was later reduced to manslaughter.
At the time of the 2011 shooting the marine was serving with Plymouth-based 42 Commando.
The 42-year-old from Taunton, Somerset, has served three years of a seven-year sentence.
Campaign group Justice for Marine A, which revealed the news, said it was "delighted".

Beachgoers in Devon are being warned to be aware of the risk of sinkholes.
A three-year-old boy was rescued yesterday after falling into a sinkhole at Orcombe Point on Exmouth Beach.
Coastguard Matt Helm said: "The boy thought it was a puddle and stepped into it, but went in up to his waist."
"These things are dangerous, but people shouldn't be put off going to the beach. They just need to be aware that they do crop up in this area."
Image source, East Devon District CouncilThe boy's father, who is a structural engineer, recognised it as a sinkhole and pulled him out, before calling the emergency services. The hole is understood to have been caused by a fault with a water pipe that runs underneath the beach.
East Devon District Council said South West Water are putting up a temporary fence while they carry out urgent repairs to the pipe.

There is "major congestion" on the A386 Tavistock Road out of Plymouth this evening according to Plymouth City Council.
The council said a utility company "has cut through one of our traffic signal data cables, affecting the signal timings".
Drivers are advised to avoid the area.

Firefighters are continuing to tackle a massive blaze at a scrapyard in Dobwalls, south east Cornwall.
Cornwall's Fire and Rescue Service said five crews are on the scene at WH Orchard and Sons.

Vets at Paignton Zoo have treated a giant tortoise with a rare type of therapy.
Dora, the 32-year-old Aldabra giant tortoise, damaged her shell and the hole became infected.
Vets had to cut away some of her half-centimetre-thick shell using a power tool before cleaning and dressing the wound.
They then used Vacuum Assisted Closure to help speed up her recovery.
The Zoo says Dora is recovering well and getting used to her new backpack.

It's reported a former Somerset Royal Marine convicted of shooting dead a wounded Taliban fighter will be freed from prison tomorrow.
Alexander Blackman had his murder conviction reduced to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility last month.
The Guardian newspaper reported he'll be released from Erlestoke prison in Wiltshire in the early hours of tomorrow morning.
The Justice For Marine A campaign group is also saying he'll be released.
His wife Claire blackman was a vocal campaigner against his sentence, saying he had "always regretted his actions"

A village that was left without fixed phone lines or internet access for almost two weeks is finally getting the repairs carried out.
This week on BBC Radio Cornwall we heard from residents of Nancegollan near Helston who told us they were upset and frustrated by the lack of progress fixing their communication problems.
It followed a road traffic collision that destroyed a BT telephone phone pole at a junction in the village on Good Friday, leaving more than 30 homes without the services.

Six Cornish players have been named in the Royal Navy rugby squad for their match against the British Army at Twickenham on Saturday.
A near-capacity crowd is expected as the teams will compete for the Babcock Trophy, in what is the 100th game between the sides.

Cornwall Council is warning people in the Dobwalls areas to keep their windows closed while fire crews tackle a large blaze at a scrapyard.
Residents and motorists in the Dobwalls area are being advised to stay in their homes and vehicles and close windows while fire crews tackle the blaze at WH Orchard and Sons scrapyard.
The site contains a number of cars and tyres which are creating a plume of smoke in the area, a council spokesperson said.
Five engines from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service are currently at the scene, together with the service's aerial platform ladder.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service has told the BBC: "The cause of the [Royal Clarence Hotel] fire is still unknown.
"This is due to the severity of the fire, the nature of the damage to the building and limited access to the building."
The fire ripped through a section of Exeter city centre in October destroying a number of properties including the hotel.
Six months on, Exeter City Council has released CCTV footage showing hotel guests running from the burning building.
