Fertility services at Southmead Hospital in Bristol are to be transferred to a new provider, the NHS has confirmed.

The centre has seen a fall in patients since the number of free IVF cycles were rationed.

Local clinical commissioning groups will now only fund one cycle of IVF - when the government regulator NICE recommend three.

It's meant that doctors are mainly seeing couples who are paying for treatment.

The Bristol Clinical Commissioning Group is now trying to find another provider. Bath's Fertility Centre is the only other registered one in the West.

A group of veterans have completed this splendid looking Iron Age roundhouse, at Tedworth House in Wiltshire.

The Help for Heroes Recovery Centre, in Tidworth, has been running the project, which aims to help service personnel and veterans improve their physical and mental well-being.

The project began nearly two years ago and earlier today they celebrated their hard work, with what else? A themed party in fancy dress... in this heat!

They say not enough NHS patients are using the service because local clinical commissioning groups will now only fund one cycle of IVF: it means 60% of patients have to pay for their own treatment.

A spokesman for Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire CCGs denied claims in the local media that the move would mean patients could be forced to travel outside the region.

He added the process of assessing bids was under way and the new provider could be in place from December.

Dozens of festival-goers have been treated by paramedics amid record temperatures and tighter security.

South Western Ambulance Service (SWAS) said 38 people had been treated by paramedics by 14:30 BST on Wednesday, the majority for heat-related problems.

Thousands of people are arriving for the festival amid record temperatures and tighter security.

The gates opened at 08:00. More than 200,000 people are expected at the event at Worthy Farm in Somerset over the week-end.

There are around 3000 frozen eggs and other samples that have to, by law, be stored for up to 10 years at the facility, which any new provider would also expected to safeguard.
