  1. Goodbye!

    Andy Murray

Those of you who joined us at the very start might remember I muttered something about "everything coming in threes".

I really, and I mean really, did not see a third shock of the afternoon coming at Queen's.

    Third seed Milos Raonic? OUT!

    Second seed Stan Wawrinka? OUT!

    Top seed Andy Murray? OUT!

Right then, I'm off. But if you want more tennis then head over here to watch the final match of a thrilling day two - it's John Isner versus Marin Cilic.

And keep tabs on our tennis page for all the post-match Murray chat. Cheerio!

  2. 'No physical presence'

    John Lloyd

Former GB Davis Cup captain on BBC Two

Andy looked unsure and looked unbalanced. He was hooking his forehands and was all over the place. He was looking at his box and was getting very negative. It was poor by his standards.

There was no physical presence. 'I'm number one in the world and you're not beating me'... that was not there. But I think he’ll be fine – there's no reason to panic whatsoever.

  3. Post update

    Murray 6-7 (4-7) 2-6 Thompson

  4. Murray suffers shock Queen's defeat

    Murray 6-7 (4-7) 2-6 Thompson

Andy Murray won at Queen's in both of the years he went on to claim the Wimbledon title. Hope today's defeat isn't a bad omen for the world number one...

  5. 'Andy isn't comfortable hitting a tennis ball'

    Peter Fleming

Seven-time Grand Slam doubles champion on BBC Two

Andy clearly doesn't feel comfortable hitting a tennis ball and that’s what he's been great at throughout his career.

What Jordan Thompson did so well was chase balls down and made very few unforced errors. Andy, after a few unforced errors, really just didn't want to do it.

  6. Murray suffers shock Queen's defeat

    Murray 6-7 (4-7) 2-6 Thompson

And here are the stats to prove it. Thompson's serving stats are excellent, Murray's unforced errors column not so.

    Queen's
  7. 'Every part of Thompson's game was working'

    Murray 6-7 (4-7) 2-6 Thompson

    John Lloyd

Former GB Davis Cup captain on BBC Two

Sometimes you look at these players and say how can his ranking be so low? Where was his weakness today? He served brilliantly and variation was so good. Some of his serves were over 130mph. His speed around the baseline and the way he moved. Every part of his game was working.

  8. 'I was sitting around, hoping to get a game'

    Murray 6-7 (4-7) 2-6 Thompson

A rather stunned looking Jordan Thompson on BBC Two: "Andy's the world number one - I've looked up to him and that's definitely the biggest win of my career. I took each point at a time. I didn't expect it to be winning in straight sets.

"I was sitting around yesterday hoping to get a match. Here I am, I got in the draw and I was so lucky to be here.

"I don't know if I can say my immediate thoughts."

  9. Murray suffers shock Queen's defeat

    Murray 6-7 (4-7) 2-6 Thompson

    John Lloyd

Former GB Davis Cup captain on BBC Two

I have never seen Andy Murray miss so many forehands. And he was missing them by miles!

  10. Murray suffers shock Queen's defeat

    Murray 6-7 (4-7) 2-6 Thompson

    Peter Fleming

    Seven-time Grand Slam doubles champion

It was almost shocking how he fell away in the second set. I'm not sure if he was feeling unwell.

  11. Murray suffers shock Queen's defeat

    Murray 6-7 (4-7) 2-6 Thompson

Jordan Thompson, unsurprisingly, tells us that this is the biggest win of his career. That has topped his Davis Cup win over Jack Sock...

  12. Murray suffers shock Queen's defeat

    Murray 6-7 (4-7) 2-6 Thompson

Jordan Thompson might well be speechless too. Let's hope not. He's got a winning on-court interview to give.

    Let's put this into context:

Thompson is the world number 90. Murray is the world number one.

He has never won a tour title. Murray has won 45, including three Slams.

Oh, and lucky loser Thompson was not even supposed to be playing today...

  13. Murray suffers shock Queen's defeat

    Murray 6-7 (4-7) 2-6 Thompson

    I'm speechless.

  14. Game, set and match - Thompson

    Murray 6-7 (4-7) 2-6 Thompson

Murray knocks a backhand into the net... match point.

Can he hold his nerve? Sealed with an ace...

    Andy Murray appears dejected
  15. Post update

    Murray 6-7 (4-7) 2-5 Thompson*

A bit of tightness creeps into Thompson's game. No surprise. A forehand clips the net cord and loops past the baseline, and then clubs another long. Queen's finds its voice. 30-30...

  16. Post update

    Murray 6-7 (4-7) 2-5 Thompson*

Pressure? Huh? Thompson whacks down an ace for 30-0...

  17. Post update

    Murray 6-7 (4-7) 2-5 Thompson*

Here we go then. Thompson serving for the match. Murray scrapping for his life...

  18. Thompson goes double break up

    Murray 6-7 (4-7) 2-5 Thompson*

Oh no! Andy Murray just cannot get his forehand clicking into gear. Two more wild swipes from the baseline in deuce go wide and leave Thompson a service game away from a monumental shock.

But let's not focus on Murray's deficiencies... Jordan Thompson has been excellent. He's making a mockery of his world ranking here.

  19. Post update

    *Murray 6-7 (4-7) 2-4 Thompson

Andy Murray is still in this. For now. The world number one saves both of those break points, then has advantage in deuce after a trio of thumping forehands pin Thompson back.

    On we go...

  20. Post update

    *Murray 6-7 (4-7) 2-4 Thompson

Only a fool would write Andy Murray off. But I'm a fool and I'm close to doing it. The Scot is just not at the races. He lamps a forehand out of the court for the umpteenth time today, then miscues another poor net volley.

And then Muzza can't hit the line with a forehand return after some extraordinary scrambling from Thompson.

Two break points for Thompson to go a double break up...
