  3. Halifax fire: Latest pictures from the scene

    These are the latest pictures from the scene of a fire in Halifax earlier this morning.

    Fifteen fire engines were called to the Game store on Southgate in the town, the fire was out by 04:30.

    The blaze spread through the three top floors of the building, but investigators say it's still unsafe to enter.

    The road remains closed to traffic but is open to pedestrians.

  4. Missing man seen in Otley

    The 23-year-old from Horbury, West Yorkshire, was last on Thursday morning last week.

    Police say that their enquiries have been ongoing to try to find him and they have had reports of him in the Otley area.

    He was last seen wearing a black Nike running top over a grey hooded top and blue jeans.

  5. Huddersfield Town fans set to spend nearly £1,000 on Premier League train travel

  6. Warning for parents who 'value convenience more than safety'

    Parents who park right outside the school gates causing a dangerous situation for children arriving for lessons are to be targeted by CCTV cameras.

    Leeds City Council say that mums and dads who "value their own convenience more than the safety of children and other pedestrians" could be recorded by a new video van.

    Offending parents could face a fine of £70 after it's recorded a short clip of them parking up at the gates on zig-zag lines.

    The council say that they are "regularly contacted by schools asking for additional support to tackle illegal parking".

  7. Police recover miner's lamp in Wakefield

    This miners lamp is believed to have been stolen and now police Wakefield want the public to help reunite it with its rightful owner.

  8. Cycling sensation Kiera Byland competes in Special Olympics

    She's already a Special Olympics superstar, but 18-year-old Kiera Byland is on the hunt for more gold medals.

    Last night she co-hosted the opening ceremony in Sheffield for over 2,600 athletes from across the country.

    Today she's competing in the 10k time trial.

    It wasn't easy for Kiera growing up with learning difficulties, but when she discovered cycling, her life changed dramatically.

  9. Would-be armed robbers sought after bungled attack

    Police in Bradford are hunting for three men after they tried to rob a shop with guns, only to be seen off by the shopkeeper and a customer.

    It happened on Sunday at Kubus Euro News on Clayton Road, Great Horton just after midnight, when the three masked men went into the shop, each of them carrying a gun.

    They threatened the shopkeeper but he tackled the men and was hit in the face, at this point one of the would-be robbers dropped his gun.

    A customer then stepped in and managed to take off one of the robber's masks - he's described as an Asian male, 18-22-years-old with a thin face and a beard.

    The three suspects then ran off empty-handed.

  10. Dementia families surveyed over care

    Researchers from the University of Bradford are asking people how willing they would be to care for a family member if they were diagnosed with dementia.

  11. South Yorkshire leaders criticise government over rail electrification

    Business and political leaders from the Sheffield City Region have criticised the government for cancelling the electrification of the Midland Mainline.

    It was revealed this week the government's proposed bi-mode trains, which can run on diesel and electric lines, will actually be slower than the current diesel-only models.

    In the letter, the Sheffield City Region criticises what it says is "Network Rail’s continued inability to deliver key projects on time and budget."

    They have asked Transport Secretary Chris Grayling to answer their concerns that the cancellation will "[undermine] business confidence in the Northern Powerhouse."
