  2. 'Trip to Anfield could help pay for new players or improve facilities'

    Shrewsbury 2-2 Liverpool

More from Shrewsbury manager Sam Ricketts: "Going to Anfield is fantastic. I said to the players you could have won it but I bet you all wanted to go to Anfield, didn't you?

"It's great for the supporters, the chairman, the club.

"It could bring in new players or help improve facilities, something that will bring long-term benefit to this club.

"When the chairman took over 24 years ago we were a million pound in debt, losing a couple of hundred grand a year - now we own the ground, we own the training ground.

"Now it's a case of can we make things better? Can we make the pitch better and invest in all the things behind the scenes that means long-term we can give this club a better chance of punching above its weight."

  3. 'You could have won it lads'

    FT: Shrewsbury 2-2 Liverpool

More from Shrewsbury manager Sam Ricketts: "When they started to bring on Firmino and Salah, we were thinking about making attacking changes but we were like right lads let's show them a little bit of respect now.

"We just said to lads 'you could have won it, but you all wanted to go back to Anfield didn't you?'

On double goalscorer Jason Cummings: "He is a goalscorer, I was just waiting to get him on. He's come on and took his chances. We're just trying to get him as fit as we can, because he's a goalscorer.

  4. 'I couldn't ask for any more'

    FT: Shrewsbury 2-2 Liverpool

Shrewsbury manager Sam Ricketts speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "They were excellent, they really were. I told the players at half time that the game was there for them.

"The belief within the group is unbelievable, for a new group they have a never say die attitude.

"Jason [Cummings] came on and he's a goalscorer. I was waiting and waiting to put him on then I finally did and he gets the chances and takes them."

"If we'd won it definitely would have been the biggest moment of my career. The game was there for us but I couldn't ask for any more, they've taken a team that's very, very good all the way.

"I can count on one hands the amount of the times we've not turned up this season. We have to take this belief and use it to help us grow.

"I've been here 18 months but the club is six months into a long-term project. We do everything within our means, we're just trying to build a squad to challenge higher up from a solid base."

  5. 'It's the minimum they deserved'

    FT: Shrewsbury 2-2 Liverpool

    Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It's difficult to win the game. We don't have enough time to say all the things which weren't right today.

"We scored a really good goal but apart from that, Adrian had absolutely too much to do. He was brilliant. The counter-attacks they had when we lost the ball...

"They slowed the game down in their formation and we lost the ball in the wrong moments. It just didn't look like it was 2-0 [to Liverpool] on the pitch. It looked like we were 2-1 down.

"But well deserved for Shrewsbury, it was the minimum they deserved. Congratulations to them."

  6. 'Wrighty knows his stuff!'

    FT: Shrewsbury 2-2 Liverpool

Shrewsbury's double goalscorer Jason Cummings on BBC One: "I could have got a hat-trick! It was a dream come true against the best team in the world. Going to Anfield is what it's all about.

"Anfield will be really good, for the fans, for the chairman making a few quid. We can't wait to get there."

Asked about Ian Wright backing him to come off the bench and score: "Wrighty knows his stuff. I called I'm A Celebrity every week to get him into the final."

  7. 'It's what dreams are made of'

    FT: Shrewsbury 2-2 Liverpool

Shrewsbury Town's Josh Laurent speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Unbelievable. We always believed, it showed our character, before the game we believed we could win it, let alone pick up a draw. I think that showed in the second half, we always believed.

"I saw Jason [Cummings] creeping, I thought it's the cup, so why not. It's what dreams are made of.

"I didn't think our chance had gone after the own goal. We've got great character, the pressure was on them not us. We've got great belief. At half-time the gaffer just told us to believe and said we'd get chances and that's what happened.

"I can't wait for the replay, it something that everyone dreams of."

    Joe Hart

Former England goalkeeper Joe Hart on BBC Match of the Day

I am going to remember this as well. I grew up here, the majority of the Shrewsbury fans will be from Shrewsbury or Shropshire, so a great moment. Mohammed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren, Adrian, all those players were on the field in the end and Shrewsbury were still knocking on the door to win the game.

Liverpool's best player today was their goalkeeper - that tells you how good Shrewsbury were in the second half.

Owen: I've only been back there once, last year, since the day I was born there 35 years ago, but you better believe I'm claiming this as a proud Shrewsbury lad.

Sam Score: Thank you Adrian for a good game again.

    Ian Wright

Former Arsenal striker on BBC Match of the Day

I know they have had a problem getting Jason Cummings fit but it seems to me that he is a big game player. It's the kind of player that, if you stay in it and a goalscorer like that comes on, with the penalty and his finish, then you have got half a chance. I think they have been brilliant and deserve the replay.

That's a great feeling for the town. Fully deserved the draw, if not the win. I thought Adrian had a top game. The tie had everything.

    Alan Shearer

Former Newcastle and England striker on BBC Match of the Day

When they go 2-0 down we are all sat here thinking 'oh no' but they all believed in their ability. Well done, absolutely fantastic. They deserve their chance to go to Anfield and play in front of 50,000 fans.

  19. Post update

    FT: Shrewsbury 2-2 Liverpool

Dejan Lovren didn't look happy at all as he left the pitch. Disappointing from a Liverpool point of view. They have been sublime this season and are of course entitled to a dip now and again, but it was the lack of concentration which Jurgen Klopp will be frustrated about.

  20. Post update

There's a pitch invasion at full-time as the players are quickly helped off by security. Shrewsbury fans are celebrating as if they have earned promotion - wonderful scenes.
