West Ham have been linked with Sporting Lisbon's 25-year-old midfielder William Carvalho and The Sun are reporting today that a £34m move will be completed before the game at Newcastle on Saturday. Slaven Bilic said the club was "still waiting..." over Carvalho and chuckled with "maybe" when pushed for a yes or no over the deal.

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic says "it's part of the job to feel the pressure and it's always there." The Hammers lost their first game of the season 4-0 at Manchester United and also went down 3-2 at Southampton. Bilic says their next opponents Cheltenham will treat tomorrow's second-round EFL tie like a cup final.

He adds that "there's only thing" his team have got to do tomorrow against the Robins "and that's play the game like it's the last of our lives."

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic says tomorrow's EFL Cup match at league two Cheltenham will be "very difficult", but says the team need to win for a boost in the league, having lost their first two games. The Croatian plans to bring strong squad.

Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez clearly far from happy with matters at St James' Park. "We've players who know they will leave and still they are around. We are waiting to manage these movements to bring players in," the Spaniard told a news conference this afternoon

"When you have 10 days in the window and too many players it cannot be ideal. Even if they are good professionals, the motivation is not the same when you know you are leaving."

Fair to say Blackburn and Burnley fans do not generally rub along in convivial fashion and gravel-voiced Clarets boss Sean Dyche admits even he is unaware of the true level of feeling in Lancashire.

The teams meet in the EFL at Ewood Park on Wednesday and Dyche, whose side lost to West Brom last weekend, said: "I have made it clear many times. I don’t understand the depth of it, having not lived it and breathed it all my life but, of course, I’m well aware of the feeling in this area and become even more aware of that in my time of being here."

Rafael Benitez has been like an irascible mother hen recently with all the talk over transfers - or lack of them - at Newcastle. The Magpies, who have lost their opening two league matches and have yet to find the net, host Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup tomorrow night.

"The players know we have to keep working hard and improve, and they are quite confident that we can do that soon," Benitez says. "In this case, we have a cup competition we will try to do well in. We have to use the squad, and try to progress."

Carlos Tevez, Juan Veron and Dirk Kuyt have been named by hackers Fancy Bears as three of the players permitted to use otherwise-banned medicines during the 2010 World Cup.

Tevez and Veron are two of five Argentinian players listed in a document which details therapeutic use exemptions (TUEs) and declarations of use of medicines for 25 players during the tournament in South Africa.

The Fancy Bears have previously published details of TUEs - essentially a doctor's note permitting the use of an otherwise-banned substance to treat a medical condition - in Olympic sports and today's publication of hacked data was their first disclosure in football.

Leicester boss Craig Shakespeare always seems a nice level headed fellow and the 5 live team will be with him tonight as the Foxes travel to Sheffield United for our commentary match.

The Blades are currently 10th in the Championship and Shakespeare said of tonight's contest: "I think it’ll be a full-blooded cup tie – that’s what my experience of Bramall Lane is. They’ve done really well and Chris (Wilder) has done a tremendous job there in promotion last season.

"It will be near enough a full house, I’m sure. It can be a partisan crowd and our players will be aware of that."
