  1. Ins and outs at Newcastle?

    Rafael Benitez

Newcastle United are still hoping to make another two signings before the close of the transfer window but have to sell players first.

The Telegraph reports that despite spending £40m on new acquisitions this summer, there is still some money available.

  2. Everton's Zohore move rebuffed

    Phil McNulty

    BBC Sport chief football writer

Everton's inquiry for striker Kenneth Zohore has been rejected by Championship side Cardiff.

It means pressure is mounting on the Toffees to bring in the high-class striker they knew they would need.

Zohore, 23, would have represented an addition to the squad, but the Bluebirds say they are determined to hold onto the player.

Everton have done very good business - but this is the key move of the summer.

  3. Baggies want Pantilimon

    West Bromwich Albion

    Costel Pantilimon.

West Brom have been linked with a move for Watford goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon.

The 30-year-old Romanian international would provide cover for Baggies number one Ben Foster, report the Birmingham Mail.

  4. Krychowiak to Leicester?

    Grzegorz Krychowiak

Leicester City are considering a move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak with Danny Drinkwater’s future at the club in doubt.

Premier League champions Chelsea are reported to have had two bids rejected for Drinkwater, with the largest said to be around £32m.

Meanwhile, Leicester have enquired about Poland international Krychowiak, 28, report the Leicester Mercury.

    Cracking player.

  6. Mbappe passes medical

    Kylian Mbappe

Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe has passed a medical ahead of a loan move to Ligue 1 rivals Paris St-Germain.

The 18-year-old underwent test at Clairefontaine, where he is currently training with the France national team, report broadcaster TF1.

PSG will sign Mbappe for £166m next summer having already completed a world-record £200m deal for Neymar in this transfer window.

  7. Transfer merry go round

    Jonny Evans

Bear with me on this one...

Arsenal have joined Manchester City and Leicester City in the race to sign West Brom centre-back Jonny Evans.

Evans will only be allowed to leave The Hawthorns once the Baggies have a replacement.

Their preferred target is Manchester City's Eliaquim Mangala and with Manchester City the preferred destination for Evans, that deal would appear straightforward.

However, Mangala would prefer to join Inter Milan.

To further complicate matters, Inter's prime target is thought to be Arsenal's Shkodran Mustafi.

But the Gunners will only sanction the departure of Mustafi if they have a replacement, ideally Evans.

But, as mentioned, West Brom will not let Evans go unless they have a replacement - ideally Mangala - and Manchester City will not let Mangala join West Brom unless they get Evans.

    Get all that?

  8. BreakingCity want Sanchez

    Manchester City

    Alexis Sanchez

BBC Sport's David Ornstein and Simon Stone: "Manchester City want to sign Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez before Thursday's transfer deadline.

"The Chile international hit 24 Premier League goals for Arsene Wenger's side last season but is out of contract next summer and is yet to agree a new contract at the Emirates stadium.

"Manager Pep Guardiola is understood to want to bring in Sanchez, 28, as a straight purchase."
